Memories made on trips with MaryBeth Brown's RVs

If I could give NO STARS, I would!!!! 😡 So, when my husband went to pick up the RV he noticed the tire was low. The both them, the owner of the RV and The man she came with her said it was fine. Which it was not. We had to call road side assistance to come and change out the tire because it was flat and of course it was on our dime. That also made us late to checking out of the RV part we were in. Thank goodness they were understanding or we would have had to pay a fee for checking out late but we had no choice because we had no tire. Okay, moving on..... there was a gas leak from the gas line to the generator. My husband had to go to lowes and purchase clamps to clamp off the line when we were at an RV park because the smell inside and around the RV was so extremely dangerous not only for our health but also a possible fire. So, needless to say we couldn't do a fire pit at any RV parks we stayed at because the RV could have caught on fire. The outdoor shower hose head also had a leak because the persons who rented it before had dragged it while driving. The RV was dirty on the outside as well as a nice layer of dust on the inside. Lots of things were broken or in truly bad shape. It's a 2019 something that is only 5 1/2 years old should not look like this. The engine sounded like it was going to die at any sec. Curtains were broken as well as stains, stains on the shades, walls had cracks in them, door didn't shut right. There was a large gap between the RV and the door when shut. The table had electrical tape on it , the table fell down a number of times. There was a mold smell in the back master bedroom. The side bump out on the right. ( Looking at the RV from the front) The motor was not working well so my husband had to go outside and push it in while I had to keep pressing the button to pull it back in. When we opened up one of the windows, the whole latch and lock came off. The side of the RV was tapped together with electrical tape because the person who rented it before us hit something and it was never fixed. Also the RV was packed with a lot of the owners things to use but in all honesty no one wants to use other people's things. I didn't use one thing of theirs. I packed everything in boxes and used all of my own stuff. Even though we had a lot of issues with the RV, we as a family of 5, 14, 11, 9 and 2 dogs, one small, one large and myself and husband, we made the best of our 2 week trip with a lot of stress on mine and my husband part. Which no family should have to go though that while on vacation. I think outdoorsy should have a policy where you need to update your pictures every 6 months to a year. Because we definitely didn't get what the pictures showed. We were RVCatfished. Attached are some photos. Trying to upload a video but it's not working. Overall the Owner was nice but I strongly suggest not renting out this RV until there are some major improvements made. I don't think it's respectful to be renting it out to anyone in the condition that it is in!!! Also I understand normal wear and tear but this was just very unexpected given what the pictures showed.

I pulled up to a campsite, plugged everything in, and lived in it for a week with no problems.

The RV was dirty and had an AWFUL musty smell that gave us all headaches. We paid extra for the renters to pick us up, take us to our destination, and then take us back home. The driver “forgot” to fuel the RV so we had to stop. That made us late for the arrival time.
But the most egregious event is we believe the driver (who came back to pick us up) was impaired. We thought something was off but it became apparent when we were on the road. It was a bad experience from beginning to end.

It was a pleasure taking Big Bertha for our trip. Mary was an amazing individual to rent from and she really went above & beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to make our weekend getaway great. She was accommodating with our pick up / drop off time and very easy to communicate with. Absolutely recommend renting from her and have nothing but great feedback. Thank you so much!!

We had a great time in Big Bertha! Communication with Marybeth was great and the special touches she does with the amenities were so perfect! My only complaint is the extra supplies that is included were filthy and some broken. The grill/cook station was not cleaned by last renters.
Big Bertha had a great weekend up at Lake George!

The RV was clean, well stocked with camping essentials, and was exactly what we needed for our stay. The host was friendly, took the time to ensure I knew where to find everything, and was available for any questions during our trip.

We had a fantastic trip taking large Marge out for a Penn state tailgating weekend. The RV was spacious and clean and well equipped. It had plenty of cooking and kitchen supplies and also had out recreation equipment such as a grill, chairs, table and a gas fire pit. Mary beth was responsive when we had questions during our trip. One slide out was not working but it wasn’t a major problem. Overall, we would definitely use this rv again.

The owner was late dropping off the RV, then they turned the exterior lights on & left lights on i side the RV. The RV remained parked outside of our home, and the lights did not need to be on as we used for overflow sleeping. We did not use electricity and when they came to pick up their RV, they found out that their batteries had died in charge.
MaryBeth’s answer
Lisa told us we could deliver the RV at any time And she was very pleased about the exterior lights being on so that her guests can get in and out of the RV Safely during the night when I showed them to her . when I picked up the RV she had the awning wide open when it was windy and nobody was in the RV or even near it when I make it abundantly clear that it’s only for use when you’re at the RV and it’s not windy, but apparently rules don’t apply to her and her guests that “did not use anything” … Her husband told us not only did they use every bed in the RV but they were still scrambling for space and that next year they would need a bigger RV or two of them! We all know Nobody is walking through an RV in the pitch black with every single bed open so clearly they were using lights. Leaving two lights on would never drain a battery . When I asked where to plug in , Lisa asked me to leave the electric cord on the grass so that her husband could plug it in when he returned from tennis in an hour and did not want us handling It . She told me that she had a 40 amp designated RV Line during our initial pre-rental conversation, which is why I excepted the reservation for a house set up , but this was not true. She apparently only had a 20 amp standard house socket which her husband told me at Pick Up (I’m guessing that’s why she did not want us to plug it in because we would know that she lied about it) husband said it tripped out the house electric numerous times throughout the weekend when the guests tried to fire up the air conditioning units . Furthermore , she told me that nobody would be using the bathrooms, However, when we returned to our property, both bathrooms and gray tank were used and we did not charge them for dumping out of a courtesy, however after spending two days, trying to recharge the batteries, one of the three batteries would not take the charge so we had to unfortunately charge her to replace that one . When I messaged her after leaving her house concerned that her RV plug-in was too far from the rig , She assured me that they were fine with an RV extension cord and everything was good. If she would’ve told me the truth, I would’ve instructed her on how to use the generator but she needed to rush out during orientation to go get her sushi dinner and wasn’t able to give me appropriate time for the full instruction. Despite that they left trash cans full with tampons and tissues and sinks splattered with spit , the back toilet with diarrhea splatter we did not charge them a cleaning fee… I also did not charge them for tank dumping because I knew it was a potential repeat customer for 2 RV’s and only took 15 minutes to handle dumping…. However, I am not going to eat a $250 battery because of someone else’s negligence despite our prior arrangement to be plugged in to their “designated 40 amp RV plug”. The battery was only a few months old and in excellent order. The two LED lights that I left on for the guests in a strange place to be able to safely enter and traverse the rig AND none of this would’ve even been an issue if they were ACTUALLY plugged in as we AGREED When accepting reservation.
