Discover Frisco RV rentals for memorable road trips

The original town, Lebanon, was settled a few miles from present-day Frisco, alongside the Preston Trail. Preston Trail was heavily traveled by pioneers and wagon trains on their slow march west. The trail and Lebanon were on top of a hill. In 1902, a now-defunct St. Louis–San Francisco Railway company laid down tracks and built water stops at a regular distance. The company needed to create a stop near water and built one four miles west of Lebanon. As a town grew around this stop, some of the Lebanon residents physically moved their homes on logs to present-day Frisco. The town inhabitants opted to name this newfound town after the railroad company, Frisco.

The Great Outdoors

Consider skipping the hotels and getting closer to nature in a Frisco travel trailer. The shining shores of Lewisville Lake beckon. The lake has been dubbed “the urban bass fishing capital of Texas.” It lives up to that title. Bass fish all but leap into nets and boats. Anglers can expect to catch several species of bass, catfish, and crappie. That’s not all there’s to do on the water. Swimming, jet-skiing, parasailing, sailing, sailboarding, and kayaking are all popular recreational activities. Encompassing nearly 30,000 acres, there are piers, docks, boat ramps, and marinas. Some marinas have boats for rent as well. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department also runs a tackle loaner program, lending out rods and reels to new fishermen and to those who couldn’t bring their gear. With over 187 miles of shoreline to explore, there’s plenty of privacy to be had if adventurers want to get away from the crowds. Bring a camper rental, as there are dozens of campgrounds with hookups.

RV Parks

This close to Dallas, overnight street parking is prohibited in many areas. When you search for an RV in Frisco, TX, be sure to figure out where you’ll park while you hit the sack. There are a handful of RV campgrounds and parks near the Lewisville Lake. Hidden Cove has 40 lots scattered throughout the park, and though all sites have hookups and water, not all have sewer. There are dump stations nearby, however. Most sites have a fire ring and BBQ grill. Highly popular in summers, these lots go quickly. Reserve well in advance.

Exploring the City

Even in the heart of Dallas suburbs, there’s plenty of things to do and places to visit, and a luxury RV rental will get its passengers around the town safe and sound. Texas is well known for its love of golf. Though lush green fairways dot the surrounding area, a unique golf attraction may be worth exploring. Topgolf in The Colony is a swanky fusion of a nightclub and golf. A digital driving range allows golfers to track their swing, the ball’s flight path, and distance, allowing them to fine-tune their skills. The rooftop terrace and bar boasts a dazzling view of the Dallas skyline, and comfortable seating area arranged around a luxurious fireplace. The house specialty dishes are wings and the smokehouse burger.

This trip was incredibly special to us, as it marked our first getaway since my wife's cancer treatment and remission, and Jerry made it all the more memorable with his exceptional camper and hospitality. From the start, Jerry was kind, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure our trip to Broken Bow was stress-free and enjoyable.
