3Our trip didn’t go as expected. Unfortunately, we experienced issues with the RV right from the start. As soon as we picked it up, there was already a mechanical problem. The owners were quick to respond and worked to resolve it immediately, but it still took a few hours. Once the RV was working, we decided to continue with our trip. However, during our journey, the RV had recurring problems with the batteries and the generator, which made the experience frustrating, especially since we were in remote areas. The owners did try to keep communication open, but they were also going through some personal issues and couldn’t always respond right away. We were understanding of their situation and stayed friendly, but being stranded in the middle of the desert with a non-functioning RV was difficult. At one point, I had to seek help from the campground staff to find a solution. I was able to resolve the issue on my own after nearly two days of confusion. I contacted the owner again, and we managed to get things working. Despite all the frustration, I believe the communication with the owners was relatively decent considering the circumstances. They gave us some feedback, followed up, and the return process was smooth. On our end, we had no issues returning the RV. That said, I expected the experience to be better. I understand that unexpected problems can happen, but many of the issues we faced could have been prevented with proper maintenance. I made the reservation well in advance (almost a year prior) and sent multiple messages asking about how everything worked, especially since we would be dry camping. I expressed concerns and asked for information, but many of my questions were left unanswered until we picked up the RV in person. In summary, the biggest issue was the lack of preventive maintenance and poor responsiveness before the trip. The highlight, however, was the owner’s effort to maintain communication during the trip, despite everything else.
