No dirt road travel, no smoking, no climbing on the roof; all will result in full loss of security deposit. Please don't have campfires with the van doors open. Any accident requiring body shop work will result in the full loss of your security deposit. We have our vehicles professionally maintained every 5000 miles and cover the cost of unexpected mechanical issues when they're within the understandable lifespan of a given part. Beyond normal wear and tear, you are responsible for all included items and damages to the exterior and interior of the van during the course of your rental. If you are considering renting my recomendation is don't. It was nothing more than a high priced low gas mileage rental car considering the shower didn't work and I was told to either fix their mechanical issue or go without. Absolutely no compromise on any of the charges even though I couldn't camp and had to use hotels on my vacation. I followed all of the ridiculous rules cleaning the van and everything and being told where and how much to drive as well as how to vacation but received zero releif or compromise. John just needs your money to pay for his van.

Hi Mark, we are bummed to read this. We worked with you to troubleshoot the shower. We offered options and suggestions for you to fix it but you did not do any and you said you had weak cell reception so you were not able to communicate with us about the issue further. The shower was 101% working fine prior to your arrival. We don't rent out vans that have outstanding issues, and if you are only nearby, we could have done something to help you but you are miles away hence why we gave you options to fix it but you chose not to follow and book hotels right away. You could have unconsciously pulled out the shower with force and the gasket fell out, that's the only possible thing we could imagine that happened and why the shower did not work during your trip. I'm so sorry that you are not happy that we did not reimburse your hotel trips.

I had a really great experience with one of John's campervans! The van was fully equipped with everything I needed for a week on the road, plus his team was extremely kind and communicative throughout it. I would definitely rent again from John & I greatly appreciate the experience with "Sharkey"!!
