Highly communicative and accommodating
Eric is responsive, often checking in, providing essential equipment, detailed walkthroughs, and offering flexible airport pickup/drop-off, even for late flights.
Older model with driving quirks
This older van reliably transports guests, despite noted quirks like engine noise or occasional stalling. It's fully equipped with a spacious bed, shower, toilet, cooking supplies, and camping gear for trips.

5.0Eric is one of the best hosts to come across on Outdoorsy. My experience with him and Nanook was phenomenal. His patience and understanding is abundant, because he still participates in the boondocking life. Next time you need a personal abode to get around the greater Anchorage area, look to the Badass Adventure Vans.

5.0Our honeymoon experience would not have been as great as it was without this van. The bed was more than spacious. We appreciated the added privacy with the curtain and tinted windows. Everything we could have needed during our trip was most likely provided in the van, including stove pots and pans, cooking utensils, a shower, a toilet, and emergency kits. There was plenty of room in the front as well. We didn't feel cramped for space while driving. Customer service was outstanding. Eric checked up on us throughout our trip to make sure we were doing well. He even provided us with a map to locate campsites at the beginning of our trip. I would highly recommend renting a van through Eric!

5.0Eric was very open and helpful throughout the whole stay. If we had a question he would text us back super fast or if something was more urgent we called and he answered directly. The van is not a luxury camper but well worth its money and equipped with everything needed to go off into the wilderness

5.0Awesome Alaskan Adventure! It's not as glamorous as a motorhome, but it was perfect for us, dependable and economical. Gas mileage averaged 16.5 mpg can't get that with a motorhome. We saw so much wildlife and the campervan really suited our independent style. Eric provided all the essentials, towels, nice linens, cook stove, and cooking equipment.

Frequently asked questions
Q.
Is boondocking in Alaska possible, or do I have to stay at campgrounds?
A.
Boondocking in Alaska is possible, in a large part because of how remote most parts of Alaska is. You can find turnouts and creative camping spots when outside the city of Anchorage. While in Anchorage, Cabelas at 155 W 104th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99515 offers free overnight stays. There are many State campgrounds as well, most of which are $20 per night.
Q.
Are there any restricted roads I can travel, such as gravel roads?
A.
Certain highways in Alaska that go to more remote communities are not regularly maintained by the State of Alaska and can be very rough. I do not restrict the use of any roads with the van, but if you plan to use these roads, an additional $500 security deposit is necessary. Dempster, Denali, Dalton, Elliot, Steese, Taylor, McCarthy
Q.
Where can I shower?
A.
The van comes with a basic portable shower (unheated) for outside use. The van comes with a privacy tent, and the shower can be used in a pinch or for those who don't mind a cold shower. In Anchorage there are gyms, such as Planet Fitness. There are also campgrounds throughout Alaska with showers. Bear in mind, Anchorage is the only major city accessible by road other than Fairbanks, so when traveling out of town, prepare to be more independent.
