About Trailhead

Colorado based and family operated RV Rental Business. We have a passion for the role we play in helping families and friends make amazing memories wherever their journey's might take them. All of our RV's are less than 3 years old which means you get the best available luxuries and technology when you rent from us. We are located near to the Denver Airport. Something that helps us stand out from others is our approx. 30 minute Orientation we do with every rental pick up to ensure everything is working and show the renter how to operate everything before they disembark.

The travel is good. Outdoorsy support is very good. Their team were nice except the hard communication about the false damage claim and extra charge. For one, the RV is old and not in a good maintainance. The screws in the top vents are loose or missing. They used black tape to fix the middle vent screen. The vent cover was blown away by the wind during driving. I text to the owner but no response. After returning, I got a message saying that I was charged for extra mileage and gas refill but no invoice. They filed a claim for the vent cover. I tried to response but I couldn't access the communication app anymore. So, I have to apeal to Outdooorsy for this false claim.

We came to Colorado to see National parks and monuments and stay in campgrounds. First thing we noticed when picking up RV was that the awning was gone. We notified the attendant that we picked up unit from. Not really how you want to start your trip. On the trip, bathroom and refrigerator would not stay closed going down road. We got some bungee cords and tried to keep it secured. Besides those things it worked like it should.

I was charged 70$ for an already broken plastic I I was charged for the refridge door shelf which fell on the floor when we opened the refridge. Given the gas tank was full upon return,
Propane tank was full and dark, gray water was dumped and RV cleaned. It felt like the RV co needed something to bill me anyway and use some of my deposit. 70$ for a clear plastic RV refridge door shelf was a bit much. Trailhead ???

Trailhead ’s answer

Sophia, this is why we make sure to do a full walk around, inspection, and orientation with every renter when they pick up the RV. This includes opening the refrigerator, checking the temperature within, and the shelves. During the orientation, this was not notated as damaged by our team or by you. We do this to ensure that we never make a mistake in who’s at fault for breaking something.

my RV leaked water the entire weekend due to the renters before us doing some kind of hose damage, Trailhead said they fixed it all but didn’t we had water leaking from every orface each time we turned water on.
someone better look into reimbursing me for towels costs and electrical malfunctions due to the wetness and 1 inch puddles of water in the floor

Overall, it worked for what we needed and the owners were helpful when we needed to contact them. The RV itself is just poorly made. Everything rattles when you drive and the dining room table opens itself while driving too. The table won’t stay up. The curtain for the bed was removed & the rack was missing screws. It’s a nice looking RV but definitely needs some maintenance.

Host was great. Pre trip meeting and walkthrough was great. RV was in good condition.
The only issue was with the battery for dry camping. During the walkthrough, the host said that the battery needed to be charged for a few hours a day to make it through the night. As an experienced RVer, that sounded odd to me.
Our first night, we ran the generator for around 2 hours to charge the battery to prepare for the night. After shutting off the generator, the led lights in the RV started flickering. This also prevented us from using the heat and the temp dropped into the 50’s inside the RV overnight.
As we were planning on dry camping in the mountains for a few days, that was very disappointing.
I had to go to a local store and buy a deep cycle RV battery to use while we had the RV. I swapped out the old and undersized battery for the few days we were camping in the mountains. After swapping the battery out, we had plenty of power to run the lights, water pump, heat and fridge. Informed host of battery issue.

Great trip. Trailhead RV Rentals was amazing to work with. They were extremely responsive and accommodating. The RV was clean and exactly as advertised. I'll be recommending them and renting from them again soon!

I wish I would have checked other reviews. RV was missing bedroom doors, too many parts inoperable and we paid to fix those issues. Would not recommend
