I’ve been a traveler all my life.
As far back as I can remember, I have been a traveler. At first, it was spending holidays and summers with my family of seven in new and exciting places. As I got newer, I remember being drawn to bigger cities and broader experiences. By the time I was in my teens and twenties, I had done countless epic road trips, and I had the privilege of spending most of my thirties and forties traveling the world. At times I was backpacking and living on $10 a day; other times I was working and living in some of the world’s most amazing cities, and these experiences spanned three continents.
Now there is Outdoorsy.
With this new chapter of my life, I’m embracing the ultimate form of freedom — freedom from stuff, geographic restraints and traditional living. Freedom to do better. For Outdoorsy co-founder Jeff Cavins and I, living full-time in an Airstream while traveling the U.S enables us to learn about our customers and allows us to further Outdoorsy’s mission. Life on the road and the freedom to enjoy a different backyard every day provides endless opportunities for creativity. We are thriving in this new lifestyle that enables us to work from our office in San Francisco during part of the year, spend the fall and winter traveling and working across the Northern California coastline and Southern states, and travel to different cities across the U.S. when we need to.
At first pass, Jeff and I thought living in a classic class C motorhome would best meet our desire for a homey house on wheels, but instead we decided on a truck and travel trailer. “Eddie”, our Airstream, has just the right combination of home-like amenities and off-grid comfort. And we haven’t looked back since. I’m definitely a trailer girl!
I’m embracing this new chapter and welcoming all of the experiences along the way.
