Denali's Doorstep is the name we've chosen for our 30ft Class C Winnebago Minnie Winnie motorhome as it takes us to our favorite places in Alaska, and all we have to do is walk out the back door. As a 20+ yr Veteran Air Force family, we have fallen in love with Alaska. We have explored almost every major road in the state. And there's no better way than in our RV!Features include a huge slide out, large holding tanks, & plenty of storage. The kitchen has every appliance you'll need to enjoy a meal together - including a coffee pot. With room for 2 over the cab, 2 on the pull out couch, 2 in the fold down table bed, and 2 in the bedroom, you and your family will be enjoying Alaska in the most comfortable and exciting way possible! If it rains we have some DVDs and board/card games for you to enjoy. With so much to see in Alaska, you'll hate wasting the daylight sleeping! But there's nothing better than being able to just pull over and take a quick nap while your family prepares lunch in the kitchen. Bring your sleeping mask, cause the sun never sets in the summer time! When planning your trip, try and book "full hookup" sites. You'll be much more comfortable! IF you're an experienced RV camper - we will allow you to use the RV in its "boondocking" configuration with the fresh water holding tank and batteries. Otherwise - please stick to campgrounds that have electric and water hookups at minimum. One of our Favorite spots to camp is actually our own property just outside of Cantwell, AK. It's the Perfect place to enjoy one of the most amazing, scenic, beautiful, and easily accessible Alaskan RV camping destinations in the state. It's a Must see if you're headed to Denali National Park!
Just let us know if you're interested. If you're headed south - check out Tenderfoot Campground at Moose Pass & the Homer Spit campground!
You're going to Love your Alaskan adventure in Denali's Doorstep! And feel free to reach out anytime you need us.What's includedWe have nearly 2 decades of experience sharing our properties on Airbnb. We approach the RV the same way. So, you'll have every amenity you'll need for an adventurous vacation in Alaska to include: dishes, cooking utensils, linens, towels, fresh clean bedding, lawn chairs, portable propane grill etc. We have included all the bedding and some extra blankets and pillows as well. You'll just need to bring your own food, can't live without spices, shampoo and....don't forget your bug spray. We have created a series of Youtube Videos that will help you remember how to do things like the awning and slide out - so that even if you're new to RV living - you'll be prepared for a fantastic trip.NOTE: We do not allow the RV to travel the Gravel Denali Highway. RecommendationsNeed some recommendations on things to do and places to visit? Well - of course one of our favorites is Denali! From Anchorage head North on the George Parks Highway through the picturesque "valley" and stop for a night in Talkeetna to enjoy the best burger you'll ever have called the "Seward's Folley" at the West Rib in Talkeetna. Talkeetna is a fun town to explore the shops and on a clear day you'll get to see the "Big Mountain". But you really need to continue north to experience Denali National Park and to see the tallest mountain in North America. Our property in Cantwell is the BEST place to stay - just outside the park. Check it out here: you've experienced Denali - you HAVE to make the drive from Anchorage to Seward. Stop for some ice cream on your way and check out Tenderfoot Campground - a secluded but easily accessible half way point. Then on to the Aquarium in Seward or your favorite fishing stop on the Russian River and the Kenai. Then head down to Homer to see the mountains drop into the ocean and catch a Halibut or two. With so much to do and see, you'll hate wasting the daylight sleeping! But there's nothing better than being able to just pull over and take a quick nap while your family prepares lunch in the kitchen. You're going to LOVE your Alaskan adventure with Denali's Doorstep! Here's a couple more links that might help with planning a trip:
Other things to noteWe do not allow the RV to traverse the gravel road in Denali. But, they offer a bus tour, so all is not lost.IF you're not an experienced camper - please don't plan to Dry Camp with the RV. Instead - please stay at campgrounds with 30 amp power and water connections.

We are a Veteran Air Force family in Alaska! In addition to sharing our travel trailer in Alaska, we have cabins and tent sites on property we own in NC. My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII, when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up exploring the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly developing it. We put a cabin in the fall of 2023. It's the PERFECT RV camping spot "Denali View". Combined with the Motorhome - it really is Denali's Doorstep.

We rented this unit because it was a cost-effective option compared to other newer rigs. We logged over 600 miles in 6 days and had plenty of opportunity to put it through its paces. Additionally, we have been campers in various pop-ups and RVs through the last decade, so we’re well-acquainted with campers and familiar with handling anything that comes up. The following is provided for the benefit of future renters.
Pros — The RV provides ample space. Our family of 5 had sufficient room to live happily for the week, even without extending the slide-out. Two of our kids enjoyed the loft over the cab. Another slept on the sofa-conversion. We found the queen bed to be quite comfortable. The water tank was ample for our dry camping needs (presuming you know about camper battery systems). The inside stove works fine, and the availability of pans and utensils was a plus. In general, the unit is nicely stocked, including bedding, which were key distinctions in why we chose the rig. The engine ran fine and never gave any cause for concern, and the tires looked to be in good shape. The tank was full of gas as we started our journey, and the 55-gallon tank meant we never had to worry about running low while traveling between national parks. Also, having a built-in generator is convenient if needed.
