About this RV
His name is Arius, and he’s special, in his own way of course!
This automatic 1986 VW Westfalia Vanagon is the perfect retro ride for whatever adventure you may be looking for! Hit Wasaga beach for some swimming, have a styled photography shoot, or set up camp just about anywhere. Arius will get you there in style! This camper van is equipped with two full beds, two stovetops, a sink, a small pull-out table, and plenty of storage space for your gear! And, the best yet- he does it in style!
We want to help you make your van getaway as worry-free as possible, so please ask us any questions!
Note:
Arius is 36 years old and requires some empathetic driving & use. It is a reliable vehicle, but as an older car, the possibility of mechanical issues is not out of the question. We have taken him on many trips and have not had any issues.
We do not recommend taking this vehicle on over-average mountainous inclined roads. We do not recommend driving this van more than 300kms a day. The van is to be driven at a MAX of 105km/hr.
This vehicle is made for slow rolling travel. If you're looking not to get somewhere fast that's not too far away, this is your adventure wagon!

What's includedA link to all the how-to-do videos will be provided to all renters prior to possession. This rental includes 150 kms per PAID NIGHT with additional miles charged at $0.40 per km. It is highly recommended that you stop often and try to limit your daily driving to 2-3 hours at most. I assume you chose this option because you want to see beautiful scenery, enjoy lookouts, and walk-in nature.RecommendationsThis seems to be a very popular driving tour that a lot of our previous renters have recommended.
Pickup vehicle from our location and head to Kill Bear PP, stay 1-2 Nights
From Kill Bear head over to Sudbury for the day and stay the night over at Killarney Provincial Park or La Cloche Provincial Park for 1-2 Nights
From either one of those parks head over to Manitoulin Island and spend a day or two, when you are ready to head back, you can take the ferry from South Baymouth and head over to Tobermory.
From Tobermory, you can decide if you want to head further west to Sauble beach and stay a few days there or head to the east and spend some time near Wasaga beach.
This trip should take you about a week or so depending on how you like to travel.

Meet your host, Mo

Member since 2020

A Westy owner who is passionate about sharing his love of old Volkswagens. All the vehicles go thru restorations before they are ready for road trips. Being a family man myself, I know the last thing you want to happen is to be stranded on the side of the road with a broken vehicle.
We are a family of 4, I mean 5 if you include a poodle. Passionate about 80's European vehicles and camping. So having a few Westfalia's came naturally to our family. We hope you enjoy Arabelle and Arius as much as we do.
Regards Mo
