The trip itself went well, and the camper was comfortable overall. However, our experience with the owner and the condition of the camper was disappointing. Before the trip even began, we were informed that the camper would not be available for pickup until 1:00 p.m., despite our reservation confirming an 11:00 a.m. pickup time. This significantly shortened the first day of our trip, even though our campsite was only about 25 minutes from the pickup location. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues with the camper throughout the rental. The refrigerator was not working upon arrival. After contacting the owner, we were instructed to purchase and replace a fuse ourselves, but this did not resolve the problem. The following day, the smoke detector began sounding unexpectedly. We had to remove it from the ceiling and take out the batteries to stop the alarm. When we notified the owner, we were told it likely just needed a new battery and that it was not a significant issue. On the final day, we discovered the toilet overflowing and leaking from the back onto the floor, despite the fact that it had not been used at all during our trip. To prevent further water damage, we had to shut off the water supply to the camper. After informing the owner, the only response we received was, "Thanks." To the owner's credit, he did apologize at one point for the various issues. However, when we returned the camper, a different individual handled the drop-off and was dismissive of our concerns. He also attempted to hold us responsible for damage that existed before our rental. Fortunately, we had taken pickup photos that clearly documented the pre-existing damage, which resolved those claims. I have rented through this platform multiple times over the past four years and have always had positive experiences. Unfortunately, this rental was a significant departure from those experiences. While the trip itself was enjoyable, the repeated maintenance issues and the way they were handled left a very negative impression and have made me reconsider renting through the platform again.
