Once you travel in a vintage VW Westfalia - there's no going back. Things to know about renting a vintage van.
- These have a manual transmission - you must be able to drive a stick shift.
- There is no air conditioning - if it gets hot you open the windows
- The vans are old school design - they top out at about 60 mph, go slow around the corners and are not equipped with some of the modern safety features we are used to.

We love to travel - exploring the great NW, the US and the world. Some of our best memories have been camping with family and friends over the years. Starting in a tent and finally upgrading to a trailer - our favorite time to get out there is the off season. Not as many crowds and the weather is sometimes the best. Rain, hey no worries we're from Oregon.

We had a great time in Earl over the 4th of July weekend. Earl came well equiped and Beth and Clay were gracious hosts and explained everything well.

Beth and Clay are great folks and my rental experience with them was first class! I had such an incredible trip along the Oregon coast in their van “Earl”. Earl and I cruised down highway 101 and he handled like a dream. I loved shifting through the gears and there really is no better view than from the driver seat of a vintage westy! Earl was loaded out with everything I could possibly need and Beth and Clay are super accommodating! I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of Earl again!

Beth and Clay were great hosts. They provided many high quality camping supplies for our trip. They were very nice and outgoing. They van was in great condition. With clays skills as a mechanic the Westy was in tip top shape for driving long distances. Very clean and comfy.

From beginning to end, Left Turn Tours made our journey easy and unforgettable. We started out as a couple on an adventure with social distancing in mind and by the time we (very reluctantly) handed over the keys we had made friends with the owners, random passers by, and even the Earl the Van itself!

Beth and Clay were exceptional hosts. They provided prompt and useful information leading up to our trip with Earl and were exceedingly friendly and flexible in accommodating our travel. Earl is a wonderful example of a late model Vanagon - made even better with a quality Subaru conversion that provided smooth and enjoyable power across all road conditions. Our trip in Earl received the ultimate stamp of approval in my wife's whole hearted endorsement of both the comfort afforded by Earl's accommodations and the exceptional bedding package provided by Beth and Clay. Rent now! You will be glad you did.
