Turtle the Teardrop Trailer
Turtle the Teardrop Trailer

Live the life in a 16 foot Airstream Basecamp. At 3500 lbs fully loaded up, you can tow your luxury stay without the need of a full-size truck.
To tow this Airstream you will need:
- A vehicle with the capacity to tow at least 3,500 lbs and able to support 410 lbs of hitch/tongue weight (tongue weight is a separate rating for the downward force your hitch can accept and not the same as your towing capacity) Hitches can often tow 3500 lbs, but still fail to support the required tongue weight of 410 lbs, please be sure to verify your tongue weight rating.
- A hitch ball size of 2 5/16" (we are happy to provide one if needed)
- 7 pin harness for lights and brakes (we can provide a wireless brake controller if needed)
Fully equipped kitchen with cutlery, plates, coffee mugs, chef's knife, pots & pans, marshmallow skewers, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, cleaning supplies and gloves. Two 5 gallon propane tanks sit in the front cover of the trailer which feed the gas stove top inside the trailer. An external line is available to run your own small grill (not included) outside the trailer. A Microwave is also available when plugged into a 30 AMP RV hookup. Blackout curtains on all the windows to fall asleep and stay asleep.
This Airstream is capable of hooking up to 30 AMP RV hookups to power your AC, Heat, onboard microwave, standard 3 prong outlets inside and outside the trailer to run your small plugin electronics (laptops, lights, etc.). It also allows for a city water hookup to run the sink, shower, and toilet. If you can't find a campsite with hookups, this trailer does great as a dry camping option with 22 gallons of freshwater storage and a 29 gallon combination black and grey water tank. There are also two solar panels installed on the roof and onboard battery to run the interior lights, vent fans over the kitchen and bathroom, as well as the fan to drive the propane heater for cold nights.

We are a family of four with twin five year old boys. We currently all fit snugly in the trailer for sleeping. With small kids, it's cozy, but feasible.

It was a great experience working with Robert. He is flexible and patient to work me through his RV before my trip. I will definitely rent his RV again in my next camping trip.

Robert was beyond helpful. He took the time to show us everything we needed to know about his RV. He had the RV thoughtfully stocked with helpful camping necessities and everything was very clean. He was very accommodating with us on pickup/ drop off times which we really appreciated. We loved our experience renting from Robert, we will definitely do it again!

My wife and I had a blast in the Basecamp exploring the Olympic Peninsula camping at Crescent Lake Campsite and Kalaloch Campsite...along with a night of boondocking at a local airport! Rob's rig was in exceptional condition and stocked with just the right kitchen equipment for two of us. The portable LP powered fire pit was a nice touch. Rob's response time for our newbie experience in pulling a camper trailer was very quick. Highly recommend this!
Robert’s answer
Sounds like a great time enjoying the Olympic Peninsula, thank you for choosing our trailer!

The Airstream Basecamp was perfect for our next phase of camping life without our kids. The kitchen was jokingly called the "bar" and we had the best bartender! Our Baker Lake Camping weekend was so fun and the Basecamp was easy to tow, setup and fully equipped with everything we needed. Rob was easy to work with, helpful and had thought of everything to make our trip a success. Highly recommend this outfit and will definitely rent again!
Robert’s answer
Thank you, Stacey! I am glad you enjoyed the “bar” and the Basecamp :) and thank you for taking such great care of our trailer!

What a fantastic trip…and experience with Robert! We didn’t make it easy in Robert as we made several changes as our dates approached. He was both incredibly responsive and truly helpful at every step. The camper was spotless and fully prepared when we arrived for pickup and Robert did a great orientation. The Basecamp (or instant pot camper as we affectionately dubbed it) pulled effortlessly behind our Macan and was just perfect for the two of us off grid for a week. Can’t wait to do it again-and we can imagine a better host than Robert!
Robert’s answer
Thank you, Bruce! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed your time unplugged and thank you for choosing our trailer for your trip!
