2014 Coachman Prism
“Nessie” is a 2014 Coachman Prism that we upgraded with a premium sound system, upgraded sway bar, and high quality front seat covers. The premium sound system and sway bar made a huge difference; prior to this upgrade the RV was very unstable at speeds above 65 mph and the stock stereo was so bad we didn’t even use it much. We have a RV drain on our property to use at the end of the trip and safe parking for your vehicle as well if needed. Nessie has all the amenities like shower and 2 sinks with hot water, a shower both inside and out, heating and air conditioning for the RV, and an insane amount of storage underneath as well as a surprisingly quiet propane generator. Nessie has the typical over head bunks and rear bed that are larger than a full but smaller than a king, as well as a bed that can be made from the dinner table and surrounding cushions. The dinette/twin bed and closet are on a powered slide out so there is a lot of space once it is slid out to hang out. The front seats spin around to provide extra seating inside as well. There is an outdoor shade awning attached to the RV and the steps automatically pop out and in when you open and close the door. Since Nessie is a turbo diesel powered RV, she gets better gas mileage than similar gas powered RVs and has the power to drive at whatever speed is necessary. We have loved this RV and have taken it to burning man as well as all the way to Austin Texas and back with our 3 dogs. Although it has a lot of room it is surprisingly easy to drive and park for anyone experienced in driving larger vehicles. We do allow dogs and have added the seat covers and a rear removable baby gate to partition the RV for management of the dogs. We love the outdoor shower for the dogs as well especially after the beach. We are looking only for people who want to do a longer trip at this time as with our busy schedules we just don’t have time to do the set up and clean up for trips less than 5 nights. What's includedSheets and blankets for as many of the beds as you would like. Camping chairs, 4 towels and dish towels are included as well as basic utensils and cookware/ kitchen basics like dish soap, paper towel, trash bags, bottle and wine opener. Bathroom basics are supplied include hand soap and toilet paper as well as cleaning and scent supplies. The outdoor propane fire pit can be used as long as the small tank it is attached to is refilled. There is a 2 bike bike rack that can be used as well. We got rid of the TV and DVD player as well as poor quality sound system in the back and replaced it with a portable JBl Xtreme speaker system which sounds much better. RecommendationsThe state beaches are great but require reservations. We have had a great time at Rincon Parkway and Emmawood as well as Hobsons. We love going to camp on the side of National Forrest Roads near Figueroa or in the Mtns above Santa Barbara or Ojai. Big Sur is not too far of a drive from Santa Barbara nor is Joshua Tree. Of course any of California’s other National Parks like Yosemite and Death Valley are awesome to explore and with reservations you can camp inside the boundaries of the park with ease. We recently took the RV to Austin Texas and back and found it to be the adventure of a lifetime. Other things to noteIf you want to go to a music festival or take your dogs realize that we have done it and it is more work to keep the RV clean and free from damage in some cases. We can help you with suggestions on how to keep it clean and avoid an extra fee. Do not smoke cigarettes inside the rv or vehicle at all. Although the RV is pretty easy to drive for someone experienced in driving large vehicles with poor visibility, is is not easy for everyone. When we first got Nessie, we planned a trip only to find that my girlfriend was not comfortable driving it on the busy freeway at night. If anything breaks please don’t try to fix it as in the past people have done this and made things worse. Just let us know we will be reasonable in fixing it.

Hi I’m Eric! Together with my dogs Emma and Kai we welcome your stay! We bought this RV about six months ago when we were debating whether or not to rent one to go on a long trip. We decided to buy one so we can take my senior dog on some camping trips because it’s getting hard for her to jump into our other camping vehicles. So far we’ve had the most amazing time going to Lake Isabella, Joshua Tree, Carrizzo Plains, along the California Coastline and Figueroa Mtn. We love hiking and exploring hot springs and Archeological sites and are happy to make some suggestions of some amazing adventures you can go on with Nessie!
