3.03 stars — Great family trip, but the RV had too many maintenance and reliability issues Our family genuinely loved the RV trip itself. We had a wonderful time camping, visiting springs and beaches, cooking outside, having campfires, and spending time together. The RV lifestyle was a great fit for us, and this experience actually made us want to take more RV trips in the future. Unfortunately, we would not rent this particular RV again because of the number of maintenance and reliability problems we experienced. To be fair, this was a same-day booking, and Eric was responsive by phone when issues arose. He spent time helping us troubleshoot and later waived generator overage. I appreciated his availability and willingness to answer calls. However, the vehicle had numerous unrelated problems that collectively took several hours of our vacation to troubleshoot and significantly affected the rental experience. The most concerning issue was activation of the LP/CO alarm during the trip. Because the cause could not be confirmed remotely, we took the alarm seriously, aired out the RV and shut off the propane system for safety. As a result, we lost use of the propane stove and propane-powered refrigeration and had to rely more heavily on the generator. We also discovered that the water heaters were not providing hot water on electric mode, so we were without functional hot water for the remainder of the trip. Eric later explained that he had personally experienced the LP/CO alarm activating previously and believed such detectors can be prone to false alarms or end-of-life issues. He said he would have the system inspected. I agree that an LP/CO alarm should never be ignored, but having to shut down the propane system because the cause could not be established was a significant disruption. We also experienced repeated A/C breaker trips. Eric later explained that this is a known characteristic of the RV and that the breakers will trip if both A/C units start simultaneously, requiring a specific startup procedure. He said this occurs frequently with this coach and would require extensive electrical work to correct. Other issues included: * Refrigerator door latches that did not reliably keep the doors closed while driving. * Little to no water pressure at the rear bathroom sink on both city water and the onboard fresh-water pump system. * Intermittent water-pump operation. * An awning that would not retract normally and required extensive troubleshooting before we could leave. * Interior trim coming loose and generally worn furnishings. * A significant ant problem inside the RV. Ants appeared rapidly whenever food was present, including while driving, and we found ants in the sleeping area and around the pillows. A few ants around an outdoor campsite would be understandable. Ant activity inside the RV and bedding appeared to be an existing infestation rather than something caused by a single campsite. After the trip, Eric acknowledged that he normally prefers at least 48 hours to inspect and prepare the RV and said that accepting the same-day booking caused him to rush his usual process. He stated that he would inspect the propane and hot-water systems, address the refrigerator latches, pump and ants, and improve his instructions for renters. I appreciate that response, but an owner can always decline or delay a same-day rental if there is not enough time to verify that the vehicle is clean, safe and substantially functional. Many of the issues also appeared to be ongoing conditions rather than problems caused simply by the RV sitting idle. Overall, our vacation was still a success because the destinations and camping experience were wonderful. Eric was reachable and did attempt to assist us remotely. But the RV itself had too many maintenance problems, known operating workarounds and unreliable systems for me to recommend it in its current condition. Prospective renters should be prepared to ask detailed questions about the A/C startup procedure, LP/CO detector and propane inspection, hot-water operation, water pressure and pumps, refrigerator latches, awning operation, pest treatment, and the overall maintenance status before departure.

5.0We had a great experience with the rv and having eric as the host. We took our two boys on a trip to Alabama, Georgia and Florida and stayed at various places. The rv was very clean and had everything we needed. When we had trouble with things like the tv or generator, eric was very responsive. We have rented rvs in the past and eric has really taken good care of this one. We hope to rent this one again in the future!
