RecommendationsWe have camped all up and down the West Coast. Our van originated in Washington State, so we made sure it is warm. We have plugged in at camp sites during northern road trips. Currently we are in sunny California and loving it! Our favorite place to camp us at Carpenteria State Beach. No need to plug in, because the weather is so nice and they have decent showers. We are mostly beach people, but have camped in the hills also. Other things to noteOur van is long, but not tall. You cannot stand up in it - we got this van and set up for stealth. We are still working on the interior - mainly the trim. For now, we have white gorilla tape in place. Please don't remove this, as it covers the havelock wool and you don't want that in your eyes! When you are set up, our van looks like a regular work van from the outside. We have created a safe and cheap way to travel. Please note that we will charge an extra deposit for certain festivals to cover potential damage to our van. We can deliver the van (and pick up). We are flexible with our pick up and drop off times. We can pick you up for free from Oxnard Train Station. You CAN park your vehicle in our driveway or in front of our house.

Peace, Love and Vanlife is my mantra! Hi, I'm Lois and new to Outdoorsy, but not new to vanlife. I'm a beach baby through and through and my sweet hubby, William, is a mountain man. We are looking to retire in a couple of years and live on our boat in the Channel Islands Harbor. We bought our van during the pandemic and fixed it up to make our own travel safe and economical. Now I'm addicted - our van is definitely my "castle" for local getaways or visiting my sister in the mountains. The van has a low ceiling but is long - I wanted it to have room for proper shelter, but it is made for outside living. I'm into stealth or off the grid camping, as I don't have tons of extra money laying around...I only plug in when it is very cold! Originally I bought the van in beautiful Washington State, but have recently moved to sunny California, where outside living is possible. I am happy to give you my tips for local and cheap off the grid and respectful camping.
