2015 Chevrolet Express 2500
Great rig for taking your bikes to the nearest trail! Or, throw your kayaks on top, and head to the water! (kayaks and full suspension mountain bikes available to rent at extra charge).
This is a fun DIY van that my wife and I built with an "Ocean Breeze" theme. Aqua blue, seagreen, and grey make up a relaxing pallette to enjoy some time in. Dinette seats up to four, converting to a bed that is cozy for a couple. Fully insulated with ventilation fan. Your kitchen includes a propane 2-burner stove, sink, refrigerator. Small portable toilet is provided if needed. 200w of solar panels keep the battery topped off for all your 12v and 110 electric needs. Lots of inside storage, with a large Yakima Skybox up top for extra gear. Also on top are two sets of kayak cradles. Two bikes can be stored inside in the "Garage". An 8x8 awning provides shade and a place to relax outside.
The van has a gas powered V-8 with an efficient 6-speed automatic, you can expect 15-19 mpg depending on conditions.
To see more of the camper, check out our instructional videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfUN8W_K2beFl0I9Y9VMm5IxZPrm-4wHVWhat's includedRetractable awning, (2) camping chairs, a folding table, leveling blocks, linens, pillows, two pots, one water kettle, plates, glasses, bowls, silverware, (2) 6 gallon fresh water tanks, (1) 5 gallon grey water tank, full 20# propane tank.
Note: You can absolutely take this campervan to a campground, but be aware that it does not have outside hookups for use at a campground. The solar panels supply the electricity. Supply and disposal of fresh, grey, and black water is accomplished with the provided portable containers.Other things to note-We created a video series that shows off all the functions of the van! See it here at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfUN8W_K2beFl0I9Y9VMm5IxZPrm-4wHV
-Van Check-Out is after 3 pm the first day of the booking, Return is before 11am on the last day of booking.
-Furry friends welcome!
-Traveling down gravel forest roads is ok, but this is a 2wd van on street tires, so no serious boondocking please!
-No smoking please.
-You may have noticed the high miles; fear not! The van has a newer engine, a brand new transmission, and has been incredibly well maintained. I would not hesitate to take it on a cross country trip (and we will be soon!)

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host
Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
We will give you a good walkthrough when you pick up the van. Plus, we will provide a handbook, and access to some instructional videos that we will be creating.
Q.Can I bring my pet?
A.
Woof! Meow! Dogs and cats are fine! Anything else, please contact us for pre-approval. The main thing we ask is that you make reasonable efforts to keep the hair and mess to a minimum. Also, if your pet will be up on the cushions/bed, please place a mat or bed under them.
Under no circumstances is a pet to be left unattended in the camper!! Not only is this a potential heat hazard to the pet, but frightened pets may cause damage.
Q.When can I pick up the van? When do I have to return?
A.
Pick-up is after 3 pm the first day of the booking, Return is before 11am on the last day of booking. For instance, if you book May 7-9 (2 nights), you can pick up on May 7 after 3pm, and return on the 9th by 11am.
