As an avid traveler, this was one of the most unique and life enhancing adventures I've been on. Truth is, as a 62 year old, out of shape cancer survivor, I wasn't sure if I could handle the physicality of Utah or the Jeep! (I travel with my 32 year old daughter who is an incredible beast!)
Between the amenities provided by Emily, the fun that Jeep life provided, and the encouragement of my daughter, I rose to the physical challenge.Emily Thompson is passionate about her business. It shows in the quality of her vehicle and the support she offers. We flew into Moab where her coworker, Nick, picked us up. What a friendly, knowledgable man who's love of Utah was infectious. After picking up the Jeep in town, Emily asked where we were camping for the night. When we told her a BLM (Bureau of Land Management) site, she directed us to one she enjoys. It became our favorite overnight spot. We actually drove back to it for our last night in Utah.Had my daughter not already planned out trip, I would have taken Emily up on her offer to organize the trip for us. Her familiarity of her home state and all it offers was vast. In fact, my daughter plans to return to Utah to join Emily in a white water rafting adventure.Everywhere we went people commented on "our" Jeep! It was a fun topic of conversation. I felt quite proud when many spoke of there surprise that I would enjoy that type of accommodation! I LOVED IT!!!! We didn't need the air mattresses as the pop up's sleeping surface was comfortable enough. By day 2 Hillary and I had gotten the put-up/break down routine to 30 minutes total. (That included changing into our nighttime or hiking clothes!) One evening, in Zion, we were at our site when a major wind storm occurred. We felt perfectly safe and secure inside the camper. It was actually quite fun! There's so much more I could say. Bottom line ... renting from Emily and Southwest Jeep Adventures was the one of the best decisions we've made. The cost was, in my opinion, well worth it and even a bargain! We were surprised at how good the camper was on gas! I would rent it again without question. There are many AirB&Bs that have faded in our memory, but this trip will stand out forever in our minds.
