David was very helpful and responsive to our questions. RV was clean and ready to hit the road. We had a great time!

We really enjoyed our time in David’s RV. He was amazing to work with. Never felt as though we had to figure anything out on our own. Easy to drive and everything works. Good experience overall except for the price of diesel, but happily the price came down during our travels!

I rented this RV for a 6 day trip and David is trying to add another day as well as file a $200.00 claim against our deposit for late return when he told us to keep the RV until 9am Sunday with no additional cost.

David’s answer

I'm sorry for any confusion. You were not charged for an additional nite or for any damage. You were charged a $200 late fee because you were very late returning the rig. You were so late your insurance had to be extended, outdoorsy billed you for that. Contractually, you were obligated to return at 11AM Saturday July 30th as Friday the 29th was the last nite of your trip. I told you I could extend your return until dark that day as the rig wasn't headed out until morning the next day. On the morning of the 30th, you requested a return time of 8PM which I cheerfully agreed to. Trouble is you completely ignored you own request and without contacting me you decided to plan to show up 6 hours after our agreement of a generous time extension....
That's why the fee was charged. I would think you can expect the same if you did the same at a hotel or renting a car.
You didn't mention any problems with the rig during your trip. I suggested 63 mph because that's the best hwy speed for the rig. Tell everyone else the same thing...I told you about needing an alignment because it's true. I'm not aware of needing an alignment causing any safety issues. If you were concerned for your safety you could have refused the keys and got a refund.
Rig was clean when you picked it up, and the interior was clean when you returned.
However you forgot a dirty spatula in the microwave and left personal a hygiene product in a drawer so I have to throw the bullshit flag on the false claim of it being cleaner when you dropped if off....
You were asked not to over use the generator...according to the meter you did use it. Propane was filled to 80% just like you filled to 80%. 80% is max capacity, the gauge works.
The waste tanks were empty but as is the case with many black tank gauges, this one doesn't work.
Your planning to ignore your return time is why I assessed the $200 late fee. There was no incident that caused a delay.
You missed the contractual agreement time by 15 hours and the extended verbal handshake agreement by 6 hours. The fact I allowed you further courtesy of staying at your home instead of returning at 2 am has nothing to do with it. The breach was so bad I won't rent to you again as I now know you cant be trusted.
