The cosmic bob (our mascot on the side and nickname for my Dad) van is a “vintage” 90s converted Chevy Van. It originally belonged to my dad who traveled all over the country in it. He built the bed and was in the process of turning it into a full-time travel van. When he passed away, I took it over and have loved taking it on the road as well.
The bed is small but super cozy. The curtains pull down to offer extra privacy and we added the cowboy curtains to the front. There aren’t too many extra bells and whistles with this van, but it has an amazing energy to it and drives well. We have camping chairs, a mat to lay out when you find your perfect spot, and an extra sleeping bag for the unexpected friend that wants to crash on the floor.
Our dear friends (who are also amazing local graffiti artists...Mers & Clown from CBS) customized the outside with their one-of-a-kind space-themed art pieces. You will get smiles and thumbs up everywhere you go. What's included2x camp chairs, plastic Aztec design floor mat for outside, folding table for cooking, linens, cookware, utensils, basic tools. RecommendationsFrom LA there are so many great spots. Lake Arrowhead is an hour away, Joshua Tree is a couple hours, Malibu and Zuma are just up the road and San Diego is not much further away. Other things to noteThis is a very old van and we request that it isn’t driven over 2 hours without giving it a coffee break or lunch stop. Everything works in the van, but if you’ve ever owned an old car you know you never know when the next thing is going to need to be fixed. So with this in mind we prefer people that are interested in staying within a couple hundred miles of LA.
