Responsive but strictly enforces policies
Guests praise Corbin's quick communication and helpfulness, but some note his strict monitoring of speed and idling, leading to charges deducted from the security deposit, and last-minute changes to pickup address.
Easy to drive and park
The van is praised for being easy to drive, smooth, and convenient for parking in parks. It's well-stocked with essentials and offers a comfortable bed, despite some cosmetic wear, DIY outfitting, and occasional amenity issues.

5.0Good quality for the price! Corbin is helpful and very responsive. I enjoyed going to Zion and Bryce Canyon. The van is convenient and you can easily park in the parks. I went in May and the weather was pleasant. Not too hot or cold in the van.

5.0Thank you, Wesley! I am glad the van was able to serve as a comfortable and reliable home base for such an ambitious Grand Circle adventure. Covering destinations like the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce, Grand Staircase, and Zion in one trip is no small feat, so it's great to hear the van handled everything well and provided the comfort and functionality you were looking for. I put a lot of effort into equipping and maintaining the van so guests can focus on enjoying their trip rather than worrying about logistics, and it's rewarding to hear that the setup worked well for camping, cooking, and sleeping throughout your journey. Thank you as well for your communication throughout the rental and for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. It was a pleasure hosting your adventure, and I'd be happy to welcome you back anytime your travels bring you back to the Southwest. Thanks again for choosing my van!

3.0Our trip was a bucket list adventure for two retirees. It wasn't quite perfect. Read below for full disclosure of things we wish we had known. PROS: - The van ran well and got us all the way through Zion to Bryce to Moab and back again. - Corbin was responsive any time we had questions. - The bed and hammock chairs are comfortable and the van well supplied with things for the trip. CONS: - The van is a DIY outfitting. While this may be common, we learned the hard lesson that it means that if something doesn't work, you can't just take it into a shop to get it fixed. On day 3, the overhead lights and refrigerator quit. My husband fiddled with some connections and it came back on. But a couple days later, they both quit again and we couldn't get them back on until they did spontaneously just before we returned it. This was frustrating and Corbin couldn't help us. See the photos of the wiring we were dealing with. - Corbin monitors your speed and idling time. He explained only the speed monitoring in advance and we thought that would be no problem because my husband has always been a safe driver and thought he was pretty careful not to speed. However, Corbin said his system showed my husband speeding over 130 times, mostly in low speed areas, over 6 days. We have a very hard time believing this, but there is no way to argue it or know if it's accurate. We got charged $270 against our security deposit. - The ad says the van has a heater, but that's only in the cabin. In the living space, he said we should put a diffuser over the PROPANE stove and open the cabin window and the rear cargo door to let out the CO2 fumes. That should have been a big red flag for us because we never trust burning propane indoors. And when it was 30 degrees at night, we didn't want to try that method and open windows or doors, so we ran the engine to warm it up. Without realizing it was being monitored, we got charged $0.50/minute, coming to $70 against our deposit. So if you want to use the cabin heater at night, drive around while running it.

5.0This van is just what we needed as a couple on a one week camping trip. It runs well and is very comfortable and easy to drive. The van shows some wear, it is not a fancy set up. But it’s just what we needed. Thanks Corbin !

5.0We had such a great experience renting Corbin’s camper van! He was very communicative from start to finish, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The van itself was clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with everything we needed—from tissues and paper towels to basic cooking essentials and even some seasoning. The bed was also spacious and comfortable. It was absolutely worth the money, and we would definitely rent from Corbin again when we’re back in the area. Highly recommend!⭐️

5.0Great van--small, compact, not fancy, but does the job! Very comfy bed, which is vital after a long day of hiking.

Frequently asked questions
Q.
What makes STAN THE VAN different from other camper vans?
A.
STAN THE VAN was designed to be a cozy tiny home on wheels rather than just a vehicle with a bed. You get many of the comforts of much more expensive camper vans, including rooftop AC and heat, full standing room, a queen-size bed, a full kitchenette, solar power, a large lithium battery bank, and outdoor movie nights, and all while achieving an impressive 19–20 MPG. The goal is simple: maximum comfort, minimal hassle, and more money left over for your adventures.
Q.
How does the electrical system work, and can I camp off-grid?
A.
Absolutely! STAN THE VAN is equipped with a powerful off-grid electrical system featuring 400W of solar, a 400Ah lithium battery bank, DC-to-DC charging while driving, and a 10,000 BTU rooftop AC and heating unit. This means you can comfortably camp without hookups while still enjoying modern conveniences like air conditioning, refrigeration, lighting, charging your devices, and more.
Q.
Is STAN THE VAN easy to drive?
A.
Yes! Despite the roomy interior and full standing height, STAN THE VAN drives much like a large SUV and is surprisingly easy to maneuver and park. The excellent 19–20 MPG fuel economy also means you'll spend less on gas than you would with many larger RVs, giving you more freedom to explore.
Q.
Does STAN THE VAN monitor speed?
A.
Yes. STAN THE VAN is equipped with GPS monitoring and reasonable speed limits to help keep the van safe, reliable, and affordable for future travelers... I understand that occasional fluctuations happen while driving, and my goal isn't to penalize honest mistakes... The vast majority of guests never have any issues at all.
