Q.How does the toilet work?
A.
It's pretty simple it's a 5 gallon bucket with a trash bag and a funnel that goes into a 1 gallon container,
Basically do your business, put some kitty litter on it tie up the bag throw away,
And empty the other container/rinse with water/ simple green and guarantee won't smell at all.
There is tons of bathrooms in showers around Maui it's mostly used as a emergency toilet.
Q.Where do I shower?
A.
Every single beach park on this island has an outdoor shower and temperatures are warm here year round.
Also she have a planet fitness or 24 hour fitness membership we have them in Kahului.
Q.Can I charge my phone/laptop?
A.
Yes, the van has 400 Watts of solar on the roof and 200 amp hours of 12 volt lithium battery.
There is USB ports in the van and 120 volt AC power for things like laptops and other devices just simply turn the inverter on if you need 120 v ac power.
Only thing you can't run is something like a shop vacuum or a hair dryer, something high wattage.
Q.Where can I NOT DRIVE?
A.
Backside the road to Hana,
Highway 31
(Awful road dirt/rock slides)
For the road to Hana take highway 360 don't go past kipahulu national park campgrounds
(This is a great place to camp)
Waipoli road (4wd only Huge fine from rangers /awful road)
DO NOT PARK IN THE SAND AT THE BEACH (The tide will rise and you will get stuck)
Park on hard gravel/dirt. Stay away from sand/close to the ocean beware of low spots.
