2001 Ford E450
Being a box truck this build is pretty roomy. We used to take this on trips with two people and three dogs all the time and had plenty of room. Plenty of storage under the benches and bed and in overhead cabinets. It has a roof deck running the length of the vehicle, we used to all hang out and grill up there and there is a rug fastened to it as well for stretching in the morning! I also mounted a pull up bar to the back of the roof rack so you can door pull-ups off the back of the van. It has a shower with water that gets plenty hot. The box is insulated well, keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It has 2 Max air vent/fans and a propane heater for climate control. It has a L shaped lounger area with a table top on a Lagun mount swivel, so it can fold up out of the way. It has both a fridge and a freezer. 2000 Watt inverter with several AC outlets and USB ports for charging. I lived in this thing for the past 3 years, I also ran a business building out camper vans, and this rig is the most comfortable of all the ones I’ve built in my opinion. The truck is a 2001 E450 7.3 PowerStroke Diesel,. In the front it has an LCD screen with Apple Car Play/Android Audio.. It also has a tow hitch if you need it. It is about 11ft 4inches tall, which has not been a problem as far as overpasses go, some fast food drive thrus it does not fit under however. This truck is a dually RWD, with all the weight in the back I’ve rarely ever gotten stuck, but there are 2 maxtrax on the roof rack just incase. What's included2 camping chairs, 2 full propane tanks for hot water, furnace and cooking stove. Cooking utensils and pans. Pillows and blankets. Bookshelf of reading material. Set of maxtrax.RecommendationsThe Great Sand Dunes National park, San Luis Lakes, and Blanca Wetlands are all within 5 miles of the pickup location. Mt. Blanca is an amazing 14er hike with a lake close to the top across the way from where I live, and there is plenty of BLM land in front of Blanca, I’ve camped on it for free more times than I can count. The valley in general is rich with free camping spots, I can send you a bunch of GPS pins to get you started. There are also various hot springs in the area. The San Luis valley is beautiful and you could easily spend a week here seeing everything it has to offer. I’d also recommend a trip down to Toas to see the Earthship Headquarters. Crestone and Del Norte are also cool towns worth checking out.Other things to noteDIESEL FUEL ONLY!!!! Don’t worry I’ll reiterate this.
