Buck is an epic lifted 4x4 Overland rig, ready for your Kauai adventure!!!! This truck is easy to drive and can handle the sometimes tougher 4x4 roads found on Kauai. I do allow renters to take it off-road, but if you get stuck you’re on you own, and any costs as a result of off-roading are your responsibility. In sand I ask that you use the lower gears and deflate all tires to 10psi, but remember to re-inflate afterward to be safe at highway speeds. The new Roofnest tent is very easy to set up and only takes about 30 seconds. There is a comfy 2” memory foam mattress, pillows and bedding. On top of the Roofnest there are surf racks so you can still strap surf boards or kayaks on top!! In the bed you’ll find everything you need to prep your camp meals.
Enjoy watching the sun rise over the ocean as you sip coffee in your comfortable camp site, then stay till the sun sets and get lost in the amazing night sky.
Come see what Kauai is all about in this stylish and capable rig!!

RecommendationsThere is no road that goes all the way around the island so If you want to see the famous and amazing NaPali coast you have to either hike it or take a boat or helicopter tour. (Google it, you'll see)Polihale beach (west side of the island) is a must do for camping but get your permits early at camping.ehawaii.govKokee state park (In the mountains) is also amazing and highly recommended. get permits at camping.ehawaii.govThere are also private camp grounds and cabins in Kokee at YWCA Camp Sloggett, make reservations at ywcakauai.orgPrivately owned camp ground on the east side of Kauai at Kumu Camp in Anahola. Reservations can be made at kumucamp.orgAll Kauai County parks do not allow vehicular camping so you need to use the ground tent at these which include Anini Beach Park Camp ground on the north shore, Salt Pond Beach Park on the west side, and Lydgate Beach Park on the east side. Permits for county camping can be found at Kauai.gov/parksAnother very popular thing to do is hike our famous Napali coast on the north shore but to do so you need a hiking permit and a parking permit which can be found at gohaena.comYou can also try to find your own camp site somewhere unmarked just make sure to be respectful or those around you. There are many surfboard and Kayak rentals all over the island for good prices. Other things to noteAirport delivery NOT INCLUDED.
I live about 23 miles for the Lihue airport and have a full time job so I do not have time to do deliveries, plus they don’t allow it at our airport. Our island has Uber Lyft and traditional taxi services. I recommend organizing your rides to and from the airport ahead of time so you don’t run into a time crisis trying to make your flight back home. If for some reason you do have to drive my truck to the airport and leave it there, I charge a $200 fee.
I do a totally contact free pick up and drop off, I will give you a door code the day before your trip. There are a lot of places with no cell service around here. Make a plan and tell someone who is not coming with you about it. Be safe and enjoy.

Hi, I am an avid outdoorsman and have build my truck to suit. I love to be out in the mountains or down by the beach but always need to be doing something fun. I have to be able to bring all my toys and friends along. I have built my truck camper to accommodate my adventures and now want to share it with you.

Solid truck for camping. Lots of room, truck was clean and included most of the things I needed. I am an experienced off roader and I was disappointed that the truck didn't have a basic compressor to reinflate the tires, something that costs $50. The listing said to air down to 10 PSI if you decide to take it onto the beach. Having no means to air up aside from driving several miles to a gas station on severely under inflated tires is a safety issue. Fortunately I realized this before airing down however I had to alter my plans since I had intended on driving on the sand to reach a camping spot I visited last year. Although the posting doesn't say a tire inflator is included, the description shouldn't instruct you to air down to 10 PSI without mentioning you are on your own to air up. Also, the zipper on the extra tent was missing which was an issue when it became windy and began to rain. The rental was fairly priced, the rooftop tent was easy to set up and take down and very comfortable.

Easy pickup and dropoff, great communication, and everything we needed to camp at both state and county parks. The truck drove smoothly and was a great way to get around the island.

Joel was great to work with. I contacted him late the night before we arrived due to a previous reservation falling through and he was able to accommodate for all the gear for my family of four. The truck was perfect! Tons of room for all the camping gear and our packs with room to spare. We never used the roof top tent but utilized the 4-person ground tent he supplied and it kept us warm and dry during heavy rain and wind. We were able to strap surfboards to the rack and store all the snorkel gear in the bed. Having the cover over the bed was ideal for keeping everything locked up and out of the elements. The truck got us everywhere we wanted to go with ease. In fact, my 16 year old son now wants one just like it. I would highly recommend Joel and either one of his trucks to anyone wanting to explore the island.

We had such an amazing trip! Joel was super helpful and communicative. The truck was awesome, everything was so clean, incredibly comfortable bedding, beach chairs, huge cooler, it has everything you could need! He left us water and was flexible with our departure. We camped mostly on the north shore and it was so beautiful waking up to the birds and sunrise. It was perfect for my birthday trip and we would definitely recommend and rent when we return to Kauai :)
