Some of these locations are listed online and open for registration 30 days in advance - most fill up quickly. We try to provide the most recent rules and laws, but things can and do change frequently so please verify information about your camping plans independently. We love Kauai and we ask that you make responsible choices while you use Nalu.Private Campgrounds:These private properties offer the easiest way to camp and are the ones we would prefer you stay at. Both are in beautiful locations next to the beach.Kumu Camp: On the east side of the island at Anahola Beach. A camp site can be reserved online.YMCA Camp Naue: On the North shore, right on the beach. You can call ahead but reservations have to be done by mail or in person. There is frequently a lot of space available so this is an excellent option.State Campsites: MUST book in advancePolihale State Park: This State Park has recently reopened for camping and enforcement of camping rules will be strictly applied. It is like visiting the end of the world and a breathtaking location to see. You may see locals driving on the beach but we do not allow our truck to be driven on any beach because it is against the law. Just don't do it.Kokee State Park: A personal favorite. Kauai's mountain parks have cool air and beautiful rainforest hikes. Be sure to book early as permits tend to go quickly depending on the time of year. There are multiple locations where camping is allowed.Haena Wilderness Park and the Kalalau Trail: This is a very popular State Park for campers and hikers alike. You will need camping permits and parking permits to use the hike-in campsites along the NaPali Coast. Please read up on the Kalalau trail and campsites, this is an adventure for serious hikers who are well prepared and in excellent physical condition.County Campsites: MUST book in advanceAll County Campgrounds require that you tent camp and that the truck must be parked in a designated parking area. Permits are sold at the Kauai County building and in small towns around the island.County camping locations On Kauai (www "dot" Kauai "dot" gov/ Camping)Anini Beach Park: Located on the North shore is an excellent beach for snorkeling due to the outer reef. Driving around Kauai in this truck was an incredible experience! It has everything you would need if going out camping. This was our first experience with a rooftop tent and we were able to set it up and put it away extremely quickly by the first night and it's so comfortable to sleep in. I definitely recommend the Nalu truck to check out campgrounds throughout Kauai.

15/10 would recommend. This truck had everything we could possibly need and more. It allowed us to truly unplug and enjoy our vacation without worrying. Milo is amazing and gave us great suggestions for hiking, camping, food, and beaches. We were able to get off the beaten path and explore Kauai to its fullest. We wish we could have stayed longer, but our trip was incredible and a large portion of that was due to having Nalu.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to experience the adventures that Kauai offers, look no further. Milo’s truck camper was perfect for my boyfriend and I during our week on Kauai. It was fully equipped with everything we could have wanted and was very clean and comfortable. Milo was very friendly and easy to communicate with. I couldn’t recommend this vehicle enough.

Milo was an absolutely great host. He and his wife even gave us a lift from and to the bus stop before and after. The vehicle was in great shape, everything that we needed was there and we had a fabulous time on Kaua‘i 😊😊😊
