Dimples, is my most popular and beloved trailers. He has a remarkably well-preserved interior straight out of 1957, with all original cabinets, appliances and accessories. His interior has been meticulously restored, with all new curtains, upholstery and floors, and I was able to save all of the fun little accessories that came with the trailer when he was new. Dimples does not have an on board air conditioner, however I have a clever way to install a standard window unit which cools the trailer down in moments.Dimples comfortably sleeps up to four, with two twin beds and a gaucho couch that converts to a full-size bed. He can be towed by any modern mid- or full-size pickup or SUV. He’s got a gorgeous shine, and gets thumbs up everywhere he goes.Rentals come with linens for the gaucho and twin beds, pillows and blankets, towels, vintage kitchenware (plates, glasses, flatware), pots and pans, a coffee maker, cleaning supplies, a decently stocked pantry, and a few vintage magazines. We offer the following add-ons for rent on a daily basis. Make a note of what you might want to include on your trip and ask us when you’re making your reservation:
- camp chairs
- BioLite wood-burning grill
- Coleman propane camp grill
- portable canopy
- bicycles
Dimples' Back Story: Dimples was a 1-owner original when I found him at a Minnesota insurance salvage yard in 2015. It was obvious his family had loved him deeply and gotten many decades of use out of him. But all good things come to an end. As the family advanced in age, the trailer was taken off the road and stored outside. One year, he sustained widespread surface damage in a hailstorm, and the family filed an insurance claim. He was declared a total loss and taken away by the insurance company in exchange for a modest settlement. When he showed up in an online auction with nothing more than a 3-line description and a few dark and grainy pictures, I pounced, won the auction, and drove 18 hours straight from Washington DC to East Bethel, Minnesota to pick him up. Lucky for me, I found a trailer that had been remarkably well preserved, with all signs of a previous owner that had been very loving and caring. I decided to honor his whole life story by keeping the hail damage and calling him Dimples. I think you can feel six decades of love and affection clearly throughout this trailer, and I'm so proud to be responsible for getting him back on the road.Fun anecdote: When the Netflix production of Chambers came to me last summer with a request to rent several Airstreams from me to be used in an episode of the series I sent them a few photos of Dimples. The director of the series fell in love with the trailer. So much so that they production team decided to make a major reveal of the show inside of the trailer so that Dimples actually became a kind of character in the story line. It'll be up to you to watch the series, I will tell you the reveal happens in episode 5, to find the secret...which I asked that they leave in the trailer :)

Welcome to our vintage trailer rental business in the beautiful Jemez Mountains of northern New Mexico Nomad Mobile Motor Lodge is a multidimensional business focused on bringing vintage travel trailer experience to a wider audience. We love the vintage experience and we want to share it with you. We have a variety of vintage Airstream trailers available for rent . Additional trailers are available for film, television and events. If you are interested in our restoration services feel free to get in touch, for a complete list of services visit our website, What's vintage? For me, vintage is a trailer made before 1965 and so far my fleet dates from 1949-1964. All the trailers are restored, fully self contained, modernized and great to travel in. They look great, are polished and have completely new or restored interiors in period correct colors, fabrics and finishes. Whenever possible I reuse everything the trailer originally came with. So, if the appliances are restorable then I restore them; if cabinets are restorable I restore them - you get the picture. However, I do install new power systems, propane and plumbing to maximize all the best modern conveniences for you. We continually work on perfecting the trailers to keep them in tip-top shape and to work on upcoming ones for use in our workshop in Bernalillo, New Mexico. What do we offer? We offer these trailers to be used anywhere they can be towed, except off road! For first timers we recommend staying close to home, within 125 miles of our location. We are happy to tow the trailers for you, set them up and come pick them up when your are finished. Of course we prefer if you go through our 3 hour training program and then tow the trailer yourself. We have tow vehicles available for rent occasionally. Our tow vehicles are not rented without a trailer rental as part of the deal. We will stock your trailer and tow it to your preferred location: a campsite, private residence, corporate setting or wherever you prefer. Our most exciting news is our new property in New Mexico! We have a beautiful property near Madrid. This property is about 25 minutes from Santa Fe. It is currently only available as a boon docking location, however as the months progress we will have water and septic. The property is remote and completely off grid. We only rent our trailers at the property, at the present time we do not allow folks to bring their own trailer to our site, it is not a campground. On a limited basis we are accepting reservations for guests year round. Please check out our website for additional information about the property and what we plan to offer there. For additional information about our private property offerings visit our website at How do we make it so easy? We set the trailer up for you, do a comprehensive orientation of the functions you need to know and then walk away for you to enjoy it! We'll even come back and pick up when your vacation or event is finished. It is simple, easy and as much of a work-free experience for you as possible. We can locate the trailer within a day, so 24 hours notice is all we need. Why wait?
