To the north lies Gettysburg and Michaux State Forest in PA, which is about an hour's drive away. Frederick is a fantastic jumping-off point with its own unique charm and vibrant dining and brewery scene. We loved the vintage charm of the van—it was both fun and incredibly convenient. Rachel and Lee made the entire experience so easy and thoughtful, including everything we could possibly need. Our kids had an absolute blast, and the van quickly became the highlight of our camping group. We would definitely do this again!

This was a great experience! The Brown Bear was fun to drive and a real conversation starter on our weekend getaway to a Pennsylvania State Park. This classic van handled freeway traffic and back roads well. It was free of rattles and squeaks. The awning is huge and kept everyone dry. The deisel heater worked well and the bed was cozy and comfortable. Rachel and Lee were great to work with. As a senior citizen, I am a little nervous about traveling solo, but my fears were unfounded. Lee showed me everything systematically and rode with me on a test drive. After forty years I still remembered how to use the clutch! I like camping much more when I have my own space instead of being squeezed between the grandkids! The small size and feel of this vehicle was comfortable immediately. Lee demonstrated how to put up the awning, flip the back seat flat, and raise the poptop. He mentioned that the awning was a two-person job. I wish I’d tried everything myself under his watchful eye, as I found out other tasks are better done with four hands. I lacked the upper-body strength to pop the top up. Fortunately, I borrowed a husband to help out. At the end of my trip, when I put the back seat back it locked into place. I couldn’t get it to move again so I couldn’t get out the vacuum stored under it. It would be helpful to add some photos of latches and control panels to the folder of user instructions in the van. All in all, it was a fantastic adventure, leaving me plenty of time to get out in the woods and enjoy the fall colors. Talking to the gearheads, I admitted I was renting from Besty Westy and would recommend them to anyone!
