It wouldn’t make sense to book an RV in Flagler Beach, or anywhere in Florida for that matter, and not head to one of the many picturesque beaches that line the ocean. Florida is, after all, known for its iconic beaches. Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area is a beautiful memorial to the life of Gamble Rogers, a folk singer who died trying to save a drowning tourist back in 1991. The park is excellent for beachcombing, strolling along the water’s edge, building sand castles, sun tanning, or photographing sea turtles hatch and march into the ocean. There are several camping sites you can utilize if you bring your Flagler Beach RV rental to the beach and want to stay longer. Bulow Creek State Park is just south of town and a great place to see some of the oldest trees in the state. There are several groves of southern live oaks in the park, some of which are centuries old. You can hike through the forest, canoe on the many waterways, and visit the historic sites at the park, but unfortunately, you cannot camp out in your Flagler Beach camper rental as there is only tent camping allowed. Tomoka State Park is adjacent to Bulow Creek State Park and easy to reach when you rent an RV in Flagler Beach. Tomoka State Park is home to Nocoroco, the ancient Timucuan indigenous village on the banks of Tomoka River. Canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing in the Tomoka River is an absolute pleasure and there are lots of picnic areas and hiking trails weaving their way through the wooded areas. You can stay overnight in your Flagler Beach RV rental if you need accommodation. If you want to check out inland Florida a bit, head towards Orlando to see Ocala National Forest, a mesmerizing collection of shrublands, pine forests, and desert, with lots of exceptional lakes and ponds. There are more than ten campgrounds so you can stay in the forest if you would like to take a few extra days to hike through the wilderness areas of one of the oldest national forests in the country. Just remember to keep your food safely locked up in your Flagler Beach camper rental because there are lots of mischievous black bears on the prowl trying to score a free lunch.
