Meet your host, Maggie

Member since 2024

Hello! I'm Maggie and I'm from Fairbanks, AK where I live in a small cabin with my partner Julian and our fluffy orange cat. In my free time, I love to run, hike, bike, swim, paddle, cook, sew, and read. Julian and I love spending time in nature, and this van is a dream of ours. We are so fortunate to live and recreate on the lands of the Lower Tanana Dene here in Fairbanks, and look forward to helping others experience the beauty of our beautiful state.

We had an amazing time with this van for a couple nights in late August.
Maggie and Julian were incredibly accommodating for drop off and pick up, quick to reply to questions, and obviously proud to share the beauty of their state with us.
The van came with everything we needed, was easy to operate, and uniquely designed…a one-of-a-kind for sure. Walking up next to a river in Alaska and enjoying a day of hot springs is a moment we’ll never forget!
We would (will) certainly rent this van again next time we’re in Fairbanks. You should too.

The adventure van truly lived up to its name! We had a great trip equipped with all the supplies we could have needed. Maggie was very helpful in helping us know how to operate all the features of the van and made the pickup and drop off process easy and convenient. Thanks for allowing us to add another adventure to the van’s history!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
Generally, pickup and drop-off will be at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. For an additional $25, we can coordinate pick and drop-off directly from the Fairbanks Airport. We ask that you return the van clean (in the condition you received it) with a full tank of gas.

Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
This van is our DREAM build, which means it is set up function independently for long stretches. The van has 3 Battle Born batteries (200Ah LiFePO4 Lithium), two solar panels, a Victron Multiplus inverter/charge, and a Simarine Pico battery monitoring system. There is also a 25-gallon water tank and a 7-gallon hot water heater. The toilet is self-composting and requires very little oversight. This is the perfect van for anyone who wants the freedom to adventure for several days at a time!

Q.Are there any roads I can't take the van on?
A.
While we love adventuring as much as the next person, even popular gravel roads in Alaska are far from emergency services, have no cell service, and are not a good place to get a large vehicle stuck. In order to ensure the safety of our renters ( and maintain the condition of our vehicle), unmaintained gravel roads are off-limits. This includes but is not limited to: - Denali Highway (park road is OK) - Dalton Highway - Nabesna Road - Nome Creek Road - McCarthy Road

Q.Where can I go from Fairbanks?
A.
Fairbanks is conveniently located on the road system just a short trip from several unique destinations. There are endless opportunities in Interior Alaska! Message us with your interests and we are happy to send you curated recommendations and insider tips on how to make the most of your time here.
