2015 Ford Transit
It’s been a tough decision but we are no longer renting Babe the big blue campervan. We are a growing business and recently decided it’s time to switch gears to focus on building and selling campervans as well as small trailer campers. We’ve very much enjoyed sharing Babe with everyone but feel the time is right to make this transition.
This listing must remain active until the final rental is complete, at which point I will remove this listing. Thank you for checking us out and happy travels!
Simple. That's our goal with our rentals. We try to provide everything you might need for a perfect getaway, with no added fees or extra charges. We also offer unlimited miles because we believe campervans are meant to be driven.
Babe may be considered small in the campervan world but she packs a punch! The smaller size means it's easy to drive, and small enough to fit in a standard parking spot or go through (most) drive-thrus. Yet there's tons of storage and more than enough room for two advanturous people and their furry companions! Beautiful cedar and baltic birch woodwork throughout make for a cozy home away from home. This van has a open layout that yields tons of space for all your gear. There's room under the bed for bikes, hiking gear, or even a kayak or two. The van is fully insulated with sheeps wool, meaning it stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. 210 watts of solar and alternator charging mean this van is off-grid ready! 15amp/110v shore power also available.
Highlights:
-5’9” max ceiling height
-Full size bed (6’ long)
-Tons of storage
-Kitchen with cold water sink (summer months) and portable butane cooktop
-78L upright fridge/freezer
-Outdoor hot shower (summer months) with spacious pop-up shower tent
-LED lighting and USB charging
-1250 watt inverter for small appliances/electronics (outlets in kitchen)
-Fully insulated van with Webasto gasoline heater (as long as you have gas in the tank, you have heat!)
-Ceiling fan with rain cover
-bug screen for sliding door
What's included
But wait, there's more!
-Bedding- sheets, comforter, extra blanket, and pillows
-Kitchen supplies- plates, bowls, coffee cups, cutlery, spatula, tongs, 2qt saucepan, 10” flat pan, coffee percolator and French press, electric kettle, x2 travel mugs, bottle opener, can opener, scissors, cutting boards, hot pads, hand towels, paper towels, cleaning sponge, drain rack, hand soap, dish soap
-Portable butane cook top with extra butane
-7 gallon fresh water jug (x2), 5 gallon drain water jug
-5 gallon insulated water cooler

A couple years ago, my wife and I bought our first van and converted it into a modest campervan. Even though it was simple, we immediately fell in love with vanlife! Fast forward to today and I build and rent custom campervans full time. We have also traveled across the country visiting many state and national parks along the way. With every build and with every trip, we take what we have learned and improve our van builds. Our goal is to build simple, yet versatile campervans that will take you just anywhere you want to go! Our vans offer most comforts of home yet they can take you places larger RVs simply can't go. When you rent from us, you also gain valuable boondocking and travel information that is sure to make your trip one of a kind and unforgettable!

What an adventure! Babe The Big Blue Camper Van performed admirably! No issues at all. Lisa and Shawn were great with getting us set up for our 4,000 mile road trip! If you're on the fence about a camper van trip - JUST DO IT (sorry Nike)!! Unfortunately this was Babe's last rental trip - we are happy to have sent her to retirement...we're sure she will go on many new adventures with her owners. If Shawn and Lisa decide to rent in the future - they are a great choice!

We had an absolutely lovely time with Babe the camper van! Shawn was super helpful and responsive throughout the entire process and gave us some fantastic travel recommendations for our trip through the UP of Michigan. The build is thoughtful and well done, we would absolutely recommend this van to anyone looking for a fun getaway.

Great working with Shawn, Big Blue’s owner. He was welcoming and gave us a detailed smooth review of van functions. He did an outstanding job customizing this van and we enjoyed our Glacier Park hiking trip without problems or worries! We will not hesitate to rent from Shawn in the future!

If you're debating about renting this van, just do it! Shawn and Lisa were so great off the bat when meeting them. Shawn walked us through everything we needed to know and we were on our way along the north shore. The van set up is so thought out and easy to navigate, you do not need to pack much gear as they provide most of what you need to live the van life.
