It is best to be plugged in when its an option so you don't eat up your generator gas.Kitchen has a 3 burner gas stove, sink, fridge with great storage, small freezer and convection microwave, included kitchen supplies 2 pans, 1 griddle, 2 pots, a bowl/colander, microwaveable dish, basic spices, spatulas, large spoon, fire starter, knives, cutting board, spray oil, olive oil, (you could even bake a cake if you really wanted to!) Please specify if you would like dishes and utensil (most do paper), specify if you would like the small kettle or coffeemaker (takes grinds). There are cubbies all around the cabin for everyone's gear (rent our hitch container for more storage).Seating and Sleeping:
There are 2 captain chairs behind the driver's and passengers seats, and a back bench with seat belts for 8. The back bench can easily SEAT 3-4 normal sized children or skinny teenagers in the 4 seatbelts OR 3 medium adults comfortably. It automatically reclines into any position while driving and down to a wide almost king sized bed at night. The ERA is marketed at sleeping 2-3 (if you sleep tent style on the back bench). Our creative sleeping tips- The van is not marketed to do this but this is how we squeeze in if we all want to sleep inside. The front driver and passenger seats can recline completely and match up with the captain chairs in the main cabin to make 2 beds for children or youth smaller than 130 lbs and about 5'6 or shorter- they usually curl up when they sleep anyway! If you would like that option please select the "twin bed add on" so we can provide the leveling pillows and bedding. The ERA is not marketed to make these chairs into beds, but it has worked for us for short term trips. How we fit 7 (2 adults plus 5 kids ranging in age from 5-15): We can fit my husband and I and 1 of our LITTLE kids in the king sized bed (its a bit tight depending on how your little one moves when they sleep). 2 more kids on the combo front reclined & middle seats and our 4th and 5th child on the floor on mats. But honestly—we usually just throw the tent and hammocks outside the RV and let the kiddos fend for themselves while we sleep comfortably in the RV. Ha ha!Extras:
Coming from out of town?- Need bedding and towels- please let us know. These items add time to our turn around, so there is a nominal add on fee for these items.Rent: Tents, sleeping bags, camping chairs, mats, extra coolers etc. We have a variety, so if you need some let us know and we can rent you some of ours.Rent our Large hitch locking container. (you can NOT put the hitch container and the bikes on at the same time)Rent Hitch Bike rack- Yakima swing out away from the back doors- says it fits 6 bikes but its a bit tight with 6 road bikes. For Mt bikes it would only fit 4. (you cannot put the hitch container and the bikes on at the same time)Extras available at additional costs:
***TOW capacity is ONLY 5000 lbs and permission to tow will be determined by us. Towing puts more strain and wear on our RV with much more potential for damage. Give us more info on what you are towing, how far and your towing experience and capabilities. Tow fee is $100 PER DAY please add it. Any Towing without permission will be charged and will loose entire deposit. Many owners will not allow towing.Rent a 6 man (fits in the overhead compartments inside the RV)Rent 10 man instant tent too long for the overhead compartment. you will need to rent the hitch box as well OR put the tent at the feet of the middle captain chairs. Frequently asked questions
Q.
What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
I am happy to be flexible with picking up and dropping off times and locations, when circumstances permit. This just depends on if the ERA is being rented before or after your rental. You may want to add a night at the start or end of your trip if you know you will not be able to return the vehicle by 11am or you would like to pick it up well before 3pm. Pick up is set at 3pm or after drop off is 11am or before. At pick up you will need about 1-1.5 hours to learn the RV and do the key exchange.
Q.
Can you "dry camp" or "boondock" in this RV? How long do the tanks last?
A.
You can camp easily camp in this RV with NO camp site or hookups. Hook ups are a plus if you can find a site. You will need to know where dump sites and potable water fill ups are about every 2-3 days depending on the amount of people in your group. There is a solar system that helps keep the batteries charged, the fridge and furnace run off the propane or you can hook them into power at a camp site. There's a built in generator for AC or microwave use. This is NOT a 4x4.
