Eddie is a nice chap - allowed us to see the vehicle before renting.
We booked 3 months July - Sept. On May 31st we reduced the trip duration from end Sept to mid Sept. Eddie would not make even a partial refund of the last two weeks- almost $4K. Says it took it off his books until end Sept, but given the notification of the reduction was May 31st, he had 1 month to make the vehicle available again from mid-Sept. During our trip one of the lenses of the 5 lights on the roof fell off. Nothing touched the roof so clearly it was never properly secured. Eddie charged $60 for this claiming the cost of the lens was $50 and $10 for the 90 seconds labor to reattach it. The lenses on Amazon are $46 for 5 so Eddie is not exactly telling the truth here. I’ll be disputing this charge with Outdoorsy although Eddie said I would be wasting everyone’s time by doing so. Also check the tire pressures before driving away. Ours were 15 PSI too low all round and Eddie could not tell us the correct pressures when phoned

Eddie’s answer

As you can see from my average of 4.8 star reviews on my profile, I do everything I can for my renters. They said this was a 5 star experience until the day after they returned when I had to charge them $60 to replace a light. They informed me they lost the light cover during their trip. As with common sense, you have to get a specific light, not just any random light on amazon. The price is correct as per the receipt with $10 labor to order and reinstall. They also failed to read the cancelation policy posted on outdoorsy website and my listing page. They booked this trip in January and decided changes needed to be made 5 months later, just before the trip. I informed them about the cancelation policy for those days and the time that has elapsed. This was not a problem until the day after return and even then they said they understood per policy. For the tires, this is a brand new RV that had 1000 miles on it on the departure date. I have certification about the tires as they are brand new and prepped by the dealer and checked by me per policy and signed off on by the renter. They did call me before their oil change about what the PSI should be after putting on 11,000 miles. I let them know that the listed PSI is on the tires themselves as with all tires. Even after presenting clear documentation and reviewing all facts, they said they wanted to dispute the valid charge for the light. I informed them that is their right but then I will not waste anymore time discussing this as I do not discuss active disputes and will follow outdoorsy protocol. Not sure why they chose to list false statements in a review as all is proven false with documentation for this brand new RV. I even went above and beyond for this couple as I opened my shop up on a day it was closed for them just to come see the RV before renting. They also called me countless times after 10pm throughout the trip with questions that were answered during the walkthrough and written on their walkthrough guide I gave them, which I answered despite informing them I would be unavailable between the hours of 10pm-8am.

The van only has four seatbelts. The listing stated eight seatbelts.

Eddie’s answer

During the walkthrough, you stated its use of 2 people visiting a relative. It was then brought to my attention late that night after the RV had been gone several hours that 8 seatbelts were instead needed. I offered for you to return the unit for a full refund or for me to make adjustments to accommodate the additional passengers that were not mentioned during booking or departure. You refused either service and chose to keep as is.
