Review summary
Generally helpful, sometimes unreliable
Nick often receives praise for responsiveness, detailed instructions, and providing extras. However, some guests experienced sporadic communication during issues, last-minute cancellations, and deposit disputes, indicating inconsistent support.
Handling issues, functional defects
While some found the trailer clean and well-stocked, others reported a bad tire with no spare, poor handling potentially from unemptied tanks, and several non-functional amenities like the awning and refrigerator.

1.0This was not a good experience. We rented over July 4th weekend. The owner sent a clearly templated message a week in advance saying he "may or may not be present at pickup" and assured me he would have a ball hitch I could borrow. Come pickup time, he responded quickly at first, but it became sporadic as I started to run into issues. This was a theme throughout the weekend. I'll summarize all the issues I had, since this is too long a story to put here. 1. The "no problem, I have a ball hitch that will work for you" turned out to be a big problem as it was set up for a truck, and not my Highlander. With the owner barely responding via chat, I was left to my own devices to solve it. The neighbor's general contractor was kind enough to use a big wrench to flip the ball on the hitch so it would be the right height. 2. With the various issue picking up the trailer and minimal assistance from the owner, it took me over 2 hours to actually pick it up. 3. The awning is listed as an amenity on the listing but non-functional. The owner never bothered to answer my question about whether it works. Clearly, it doesn't. 4. The refrigerator stopped working within 24 hours. He tried to tell me I needed to hook up the batteries and he "forgot" to tell me. A ridiculous claim - his template pickup message explains everything about how to set up the trailer and makes no mention of hooking up the batteries. I was plugged in to the grid and the refrigerator worked fine up to that point. Nevertheless, I asked him for instructions on how to hook up the batteries, and never got a response, even 12 hours later. No response because that's not how the refrigerator is powered. Bottom line, my food got up to room temperature and we had to head home a day early. 5. The curtain drawstrings are all broken, so there is no way to keep the curtains pulled up, making it difficult to get air circulation via the open windows. 6. The trailer handled like the tanks were not fully emptied. When I emptied them before heading home, the trailer handled completely differently. 7. The owner provided only a box of matches to light the gas stove. How about a BBQ lighter? This is not a fun or safe way to light a gas stove. 8. Parking the trailer back at the owner's house was a process of its own, not to be done alone. He had two cars in his driveway and I needed to back it up a curb and next to a brick wall. This is rather right, not unlike backing into a tight campground space. Be prepared to have a second person on hand, and don't expect the owner to be around. 9. Overall, the trailer feels cheap and heavily used. The outside is dusty; there is some damage on one side and signs of rust in places; the burner knobs are melted from hot pans placed on them; the dining table is fold out and unsecured; the black tank sensor is "not accurate" - showed full from the start so we had no idea how much capacity we had used; the microwave doesn't fit in the space it's in, so the door doesn't open properly. Bottom line, best case scenario, this would be a 3-star rental. Throw in an absentee owner making up excuses and then the failing refrigerator that forced me to cut my trip short and this was all around a 0-star July 4th weekend. Did I mention the owner suggested he would offer a refund only if I didn't write a negative review? That speaks for itself.
