The Great Outdoors

For as cosmopolitan and cultured as Toronto is, there’s also a huge emphasis on green space and outdoor activity. The Toronto and Region Conservation Association operates a number of parks, preserves, and recreation areas, including three campgrounds with serviced spaces for RVs (more on those later). Some TRCA highlights include the Heart Lake Conservation Area with a pool and splash pad, the Kortright Centre for Conservation, the Rouge National Urban Park (Canada’s pioneering first national urban park), and historical reenactments at the Black Creek Pioneer Village.

Camping in Toronto

The TRCA operates three family-oriented (although all are welcome) campgrounds for your RV rental in Toronto, ON. The Glen Rouge Campground is within the city limits and public transportation stops are within walking distance. Campground fees include free admission to the Petticoat Creek Conservation Area and a discount at the Petticoat pool. The Albion Hills Campground is located in the Albion Hills Conservation Area. It features a pool, playgrounds, campground store, fire pits, showers, and WiFi in the chalet. The Indian Line Campground is on the Claireville Dam for a waterfront feel. It also offers access to public transportation and a pool, playgrounds, campground store, and WiFi.

Exploring the City

You can book an RV in Toronto for any number of annual fairs and festivals including Toronto Pride, one of the largest Pride events in the world, or the Luminato Festival that incorporates many of the city’s theaters, parks, and public spaces. Other popular festivals include the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, the Indigenous Arts Festival, the Bud Light Dreams Festival which features electronic music on Lake Ontario, the Toronto Outdoor Art Festival, the Beaches International Jazz Festival and the Word On The Street Festival, which creates the world’s largest outdoor bookstore with over 270 book and magazine exhibitors and over 200 authors. The festivals don’t end there. You and the Toronto motorhome rental can also fest it up at the Toronto Summer Music Festival, Toronto’s Festival of Beer, the Small World Music Festival which features music from Mali, Korea, Cuba, Palestine, Spain, Estonia, and more, and the Toronto International Film Festival, the world’s largest public film festival.
