2022 Jeep Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4XE
This is Gonzo, my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4XE. He makes a fun and fuel-efficient around-town vehicle or I can fully kit him out for overland camping trips if you want to do that.Gonzo's a Phev (Plug-in hybrid) you can drive around town quietly and without using any gas if you choose. In hybrid mode (like a Prius) you can expect about 27mpg (gas) in the city and about 18-21 on long road trips with mostly highway miles at 65mph. If you rent the tent, you'll be on the lower end of that. Heading to Big Bend NP there are 80 mph speed zones and if you do 80 mph with the tent, you can expect 14-15mpg. Compare that efficiency to ANY other real overland/off-road vehicle - jeep, 4runners, etc.Gonzo does not have giant tires or a lift because he's not meant for rock crawling (or looking like he does). Stock 33" BFG AT tires, a Gmrs radio, a cellular booster, and a front winch and bumper are the basics for overlanding in the backcountry and that's what you get here - unless you want the full kit. Gonzo's a legit Wrangler Rubicon with really good fuel efficiency. Gas-only Wrangler Rubicons are 12-15mpg all the time. What's includedI can fully kit you out with my 60" Free Spirit Recreation RTT. This is a top-of-line 3-season insulated rooftop tent with interior LED lighting, 10-gallon water system with pump and refill hose, an extra 5-gallon gas tank, Trasharoo, rear cargo basket, traction boards, camp stove, dishes, lightweight tarp-awning, table & two chairs, towels, sleeping bags, and a small yeti-like cooler. Basically, everything you need to go overland camping.
