Beautiful trail!Talkeetna - visit a sled dog Kennel, tour the cute town and shops, go on a jet boat rideGirdwood- take the sky tram to the top of the mountain, hike to Virgin Creek waterfall, visit Girdwood Brewery & food trucks,Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center-- south of Anchorage, 10 min. after the Girdwood cutoff. I believe $15 entrance fee, able to drive the van through the park and see lots of rescued wildlife-- bears, bison, caribou, wolvesSeward- glacier boat tours, The Sealife center. Guided fishing trip.Hope-- one of our favorite locations!! Just 2 hours south of Anchorage. Small and quaint. Live music on the weekends at the Creekbend Cafe. Visit the Seaview Cafe and camp next to the ocean. Lovely place-- must see!Cooper Landing-- guided fishing, views of the gorgeous Kenai River, rafting tripHomer-- visit the spit and local shops, guided halibut fishing trip, kayak across the bay, walk on Bishop Beach during low tideOther things to note***HIGHWAY USE ONLY*** Alaska highways are well-maintained and all popular destinations include paved highways. However, gravel roads or off-roading areas are restricted. The van has low clearance and is not built for off-roading. Denali Highway is NOT allowed. However, the first 15 miles of the DENALI PARK ROAD is allowed****Highway Restrictions: Please do not drive the following: Dalton Highway - Denali Highway, (Cantwell, AK to Paxson, AK)- McCarthy Road - Steese Highway - Taylor Highway. These roads are more remote. The most popular highways between Anchorage to Fairbanks and Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula or Anchorage over to Valdez are all acceptable.--Many of the Alaska flights arrive late at night. The van orientation and paperwork can take up to an hour to complete, thus if you arrive late you will need to arrange to pick up the van the following morning. If you arrive in the evening and want to pick up the van but not leave Anchorage, our location is 5 min. away from the South Anchorage Cabela’s and Target on C street. There is a designated RV parking/camping lot in between the two stores, providing a safe and well-lit area for you to get some sleep after a long travel day. Come morning, you can easily stock up on supplies in Anchorage (Target, Walmart, Carrs (grocery store), Fred Myers (grocery meets target/Walmart) all nearby) and hit the open road!-Van does not have a toilet but there are numerous restroom facilities along the road system and at campgrounds.***This is not a van you can stand up in, it is compact******Sleeping space for two can be snug depending on size, please keep this in mind.
