RecommendationsAnchorage is the gateway to the true Alaska! I'm happy to help with trip planning so don't hesitate to ask!Road restrictions:
While we understand you are here for the adventure, our car is NOT an off-road vehicle and common sense must be used when deciding where and where not to go.
*Off-limits roads include: The Denali Highway (the 135 mile road between Cantwell and Paxson), the road to McCarthy/Kennicott, Dalton Highway (aka The Haul Road) and any locations via ferry that take you off the road system (e.g. Kodiak).
Other things to note-there are many areas, even on highly traveled roads, where there is no cell service
-there are long stretches of road where there are no gas stations so plan your gas-ups accordingly
-we cannot accommodate pets at this time
-please DO NOT clean fish in or near the vehicle. Bears are attracted to all food and especially fish smell, so choose wisely when handling and storing fish and fishing gear!
-fish smells, messes and other "accidents" may result in additional fees and affect your deposit

Responsive with helpful suggestions

Mindy offers quick, clear communication and helpful suggestions for Alaska trips. She accommodates requests, guides first-time campers, and makes pick-up/drop-off and check-in/out processes easy. Available add-ons are reasonably priced.

Comfortable, reliable driving experience

The Subaru Outback drives great with a comfortable ride. The rooftop tent is easy and quick to set up, spacious (fits 6'3" person), comfortable, warm, and keeps occupants dry in rain, though minor condensation can occur.

Guests love it for first-timers

Awesome host and great vehicle to enjoy Alaska in. The car tent kept us dry and warm on rainy nights. No need for an expensive RV.

My husband and I have lived in Alaska for 25 years and have enjoyed many adventures along the way. We were tent campers for many, many years before buying a truck and camper after our family grew. Some of my most favorite memories involve our tent camping years and I sure wish that rooftop tents were more of a "thing" back in those days! As a host, I am hoping to help others enjoy the great Alaskan outdoors in a safe and exciting way, with a reliable vehicle and sturdy place to rest after a day of adventuring! I am happy to help with trip planning and recommendations so questions are always welcome. I want all visitors to have a "trip of a lifetime," when they visit this amazing place that never fails to amaze me, even after all these years.
