RecommendationsAnchorage is the gateway to the true Alaska! I'm happy to help with trip planning so don't hesitate to ask!Road restrictions:
While we understand you are here for the adventure, our car is NOT an off-road vehicle and common sense must be used when deciding where and where not to go.
Off-limits roads include: The Denali Highway (the 135 mile road between Cantwell and Paxson), the road to McCarthy/Kennicott, and any locations via ferry that take you off the road system (e.g. Kodiak).Other things to note-there are many areas, even on highly traveled roads, where there is no cell service
-there are long stretches of road where there are no gas stations so plan your gas-ups accordingly
-we cannot accommodate pets at this time
-please DO NOT clean fish in or near the vehicle. Bears are attracted to all food and especially fish smell, so choose wisely when handling and storing fish and fishing gear!
-fish smells, messes and other "accidents" may result in additional fees and affect your deposit

5Awesome host and great vehicle to enjoy Alaska in. The car tent kept us dry and warm on rainy nights. No need for an expensive RV.

5The roof tent was easy to put up, comfortable to sleep in, and quick to pack up. We’re able bodied seniors who had no difficulty with it. Mindy was always able to answer our questions in a clear and timely manner.

5This was my first rental on outdoorsy and Mindy made it an absolute dream! The Subaru drove great with no issues at all. The tent was spacious enough for 2 including my 6’3” self. Setup took very little time or effort. Definitely spent more time getting sleeping stuff into the tent than setting it up. The Alaskan weather was cold and wet and we were warm enough with 20° sleeping bags and a blanket on top, though we cheated and used hand warmers in the sleeping bags for a boost. The weather was wet and even with venting we had some condensation on the inner walls but that’s just camping in cold wet climates. I would definitely recommend using this vehicle/tent for your own Alaskan camping adventure.

5This was the best way to experience Alaska. Mindy was extremely helpful with suggestions and responded to us quickly. The Outback runs great, the rooftop tent is extremely user friendly and kept us dry in heavy rain. The check-in/out process was a breeze as well!
