*Please make sure you message me about your towing experience when requesting to book. Thanks!*
If you like the idea of a small, lightweight trailer, then my Scamp camper is the perfect trailer for you.
Compact and cozy, this little fiberglass “egg” is great for couples or small families. The front sofa converts to bunk beds, and the rear dining area converts to a double bed providing sleeping space for four people.
My passion is helping travelers experience the beauty of Alaska warmly and safely. We can also provide you with a camping package including (but not limited to) camp chairs and a cooler. Other items available upon request.
As this is a tow behind trailer, I rent to people who have experience towing something behind their vehicle. The trailer hitch requires a 1 and 7/8” ball and the electric plug for the driving lights is a flat 4-prong. Please provide an adapter if your vehicle does not have this style plug. The tongue weight is 100-120 pounds.
The trailer tongue rides about 14” from the ground in order to have the Scamp fairly level. Please make sure your tow package has the proper hitch (flat or drop down etc) to be within 13-15” from the ground. I cannot rent to anyone who isn’t prepared to safely tow the Scamp level with working lights.
The Scamp rents with pots, pans and dishes for eating and drinking. There will be 1 full propane tank provided for your trip. Filling the 20 gallon water tank is optional as many prefer to tow with it empty as you get better gas mileage.
If you’ve read this far and are seriously interested in renting, please message me with details about your camper towing experience and a basic idea of what kind of trip you would like to take the Scamp on (duration and general location). I will answer all requests that include this info, I can’t guarantee I will respond to generic requests to rent that don’t include a personal message.
Thank for reading and happy Scamping!
Pot, pan, tea kettle, cutting board, bowls, plates, cups, utensils, soap, sponge
Anywhere south of Anchorage is great. I love Hope, Moose Pass, Seward, Clam Gulch area and Homer.
Other things to note
The Scamp doesn’t do well on bumpy roads so sticking mostly to pavement is recommended.
