About Alaska Family Motorhomes & Vans
We are a family run motor home RV Motorhome and Camper Van rental business based in Anchorage Alaska. We rent most all season long with rates as low as $130/day on some units. We have basic camper vans sleeping two and all the way up to 30 foot class C RV motorhomes with slides that sleep up to eight. With unlimited miles, free generator use, free kitchenware, free airport or hotel pickup and drop-off, optional bedding and insurance, we are your one stop shop for Anchorage Alaska RV rentals. The interior lights did not work, as well as the vent fan in the roof. I was told if I had any problems to text and they would help. I text and never received a reply. Before we left I asked about whether we could drive on a particular road, and was told that they would ask the owner and get right back to me. I never heard from anyone The gas gauge also didn't work. We also explained before we left that we would be returning the van 1 day earlier than originally discussed and was told it would be no problem. When we got back to turn the van in no one returned our text or calls. The owner did eventually contact us, and had no idea we were returning the van a day early.

We found the interior lights in the ceiling worked fine with the switch on the wall. What number did you text? My personal text number is listed on the website and in the receipts and contact form you signed.
In reference to Mccarthy road, that is off limits as published in our dirt road policy. Same with Denali road. We do allow up to ten miles of dirt road as published on our website and explained in the contract.
We have a formal communication via the website where we ask that all customers use for things like this. We never got any email requests via our website. And the delivery agent never explained about the day early or we would have noted this on the website to communicate this internally.

The gas gauge does work, however it is a large (35 gallon) tank and for some reason, it doesn't move down until it is about 17 gallons left.

Host and personnel: excellent communication, and they went out of their way to make the pickup and drop-off very smooth. Also, when I found the 12V round ports inoperable before we started traveling, the host took time to fix them on the spot.
The RV. The one we rented was an older one, but clearly has been loved and cared for. Everything worked, even though there were some cosmetic problems, the worst being a windshield crack that didn't affect safety but marred the view somewhat; and some difficulty getting the electrified popout to change position, which we did overcome. We had six people traveling, maximum occupancy, and cooked most of our meals in the RV; still enjoyed it very well. None of us was very tall, which was a plus especially during the rotation sleeping in the table space.
Certainly I will recommend this outfit to any friends or family who wish to RV in southern Alaska. Much appreciate the service.

We had an amazing two-week trip around Alaska with Woodie! Although the van is small, it was the perfect size for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, and there was enough storage space for everything we brought.

Alaskan Family Motorhomes was very flexible, with a wealth of experience & dedication to serving our need for a temporary home on wheels. The RV wasn't perfect, but it ably met our needs, covering about 1500 miles of rough, Alaskan highways. We had to make some last-minute adjustments in our 2-week vacation and AFM made everything easy. Recommended...

Thanks AFM. Although not the brand new vehicle experience, price and availability were above expectation. Beluga was a very cute unit. It suited quite well for our 420th trip to Alaska. The owner was very kind and personable. The gal that delivered and received us was so kind and had such wonderful ambiance, we just had to take her with us to breakfast. The van was great. My wife cant sleep with my snoring, thusly, the tent topper was the perfect solution. Thank you.

Had such a great trip in their Beluga Van. Ran great in most conditions. Great Service and generous. Pat was very friendly host. Tom was super helpful as well when we had couple minor hiccups with the van. Highly recommend them.
