Steer clear of Alaska RV Rentals! The company offered almost no customer service, what little it did provide was abysmal, they misrepresent their RVs as coming "fully equipped" when they are most certainly not, and there is no pride of ownership as demonstrated by the condition of the RVs and the minimal items stocked in the RV.

First of all they welcome you in nice , and than it takes them 45 min to 1 hour to get your RV. In my case I had a 25 ft RV it was super old and very badly maintained the wind was blowing inside the RV while it was raining rain drops started falling on my glasses very unsafe. Costumer service was nice and they sent a maintanence person to fix the draft issue and they did. But that RV is very unsafe to drive very old and I payd over 3k for 6 nights. At the return I got charged 109$ for gas. I filled the gas 74$ 5 min before returning it they are claiming they had to gas up 12 gallons they have it set up for the RV to stop taking gas at a certain point while fueling so they can scam you later stating that it needs fuel. DO NOT RENT FROM THEY THEY SCAM YOU ANY WAY THEY CAN.

The RV was very clean and the hosts were nice. However, it had no stabilizers and we were told they had run out of leveling blocks. Major issues were torn or missing screens, gap in the door, and no blackout curtain by the table; this meant mosquitoes got in and we were not able to have full privacy or dark sleeping conditions, which made for an unpleasant experience. We paid for an inverter and coffee maker, but the inverter was too small to run it (camp hours meant no generator in the morning), and was too limited on how long it could run a medical device, which was concerning. We would not rent this again.

Too bad I can’t leave ZERO stars. This was a forgettable experience in EVERY sense. The RV company—becuase this is not an individual, it’s a Persian bazaar-style business that doesn’t care about anything but turning over RVs quickly—was terrible at communication. We spent over $3k on this rental and I could not even get a call back or email for the month before pick up. Then when I gave up on getting any response, I showed up at pick up and was told the RV had not been returned yet, but the employee was laughing at the situation as he told me. I don’t expect a ton of empathy, but he seemed like he was drunk or high the way he was laughing. We ended up leaving hours late because they still had to clean it after it was returned. Also, the “extras” were a waste of money. The coffee machine was broken and didn’t really make coffee but still got really warm and seemed like a great way to start a fire in the RV. At pick up time after “cleaning” the RV was leaking water from the fridge (pooling on the floor and running across the RV floor), so the employees just threw a dirty towel down on the floor and told us they were sure it would be fine. While out camping, it rained (it’s Alaska) and every time it did there was a leak in the RV and it pooled then ran across the floor of the RV. It seemed like the water was coming from the slide out, but no idea. Outdoorsy really should discontinue ALL business with this company and, separately, should let renters know before booking when there is a 3rd party like this involved because now that we know the name of the company they have horrendous yelp and other online reviews. Pictures below are of multiple water leaks including the one from pick up and two while camping when it rained.

We showed up to pick up the rental at 3:15 (pickup time was 3) and was told that the RV would not be ready for another 30-45 minutes - it has fuel tank issue and a slide out issue and still needed to be cleaned.

We’re sorry for the delay at pickup and the inconvenience that caused to your plans. The RV required additional last-minute checks and cleaning to ensure it was safe and ready for the road, which unfortunately took longer than expected. We understand how frustrating that wait must have been without advance notice, and we’ll work on improving communication in similar situations going forward.

I rented Skywalker for a week long Alaska road trip. The RV was easy to drive even for my first RV experience. Everything was in fine working order and easy to understand. I would rent from Alaska RV again in the future.

We were unable to accept the vehicle in the condition in which it was presented and had to make other arrangements. This host is an RV rental company.

Although the scheduled pickup was 3:00 PM, the guest arrived after 8:00 PM, which is outside our posted business hours of 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Despite this, our team stayed to complete the necessary paperwork, orientation, and walkthrough.

The reservation and preparation process was excellent. Working with Jamie made me feel so much more comfortable about renting the RV. Jamie was available on messages and even via phone calls more than once. Upon arriving at the lot, it was a bit busy and I needed to wait for someone to be available to show me the vehicle. The walk through was simple and provided the necessary info. The RV overall drove well and was in good condition. There were a few issues, but we were able to manage them as needed and worked these out with the hosts. The service and communication onsite was not quite as warm and easy to interact with as it was with Jamie, but we were able to figure out everything that we needed to.

I would suggest putting the basics in the rv. Like soap paper towels and trash bags. Make sure that everything that you tell people that is in the rv is actually in the RV. Like All the black out coverings for the front of the cab. As well as something to cover the skylight in the master bedroom.
The RV was great would definitely use again. Already suggested AlaskaRV to some friends.

What a terrible experience. The water pump failed after one day, the toilet backed up on the second day and the generator would only start occasionally. They claim to have great, responsive customer service, but no one answered the phone and it took them twelve hours to respond, without a solution. Upon returning the RV, they said the lack of fresh water and a functioning toilet were not grounds for any sort of refund. We’re just going to let the credit card company sort it out. But definitely avoid these guys. What could have been a great week in an RV was ruined by their defective RV and unresponsive customer service. And it was allegedly a 2026 RV, so even the year isn’t enough to let you trust their RVs.
