About Carissa and Tom's RV rentals
We're Tom and Carissa, proud owners of Vancouver Campervans. Our journey began in 2020 when we rented a campervan and explored beautiful British Columbia. Experiencing the freedom to travel and maintain a balanced life inspired us to share this opportunity with others. As passionate entrepreneurs and avid travellers, we juggle our businesses while embarking on exciting adventures or hitting the gym for some gains. We're thrilled to connect with like-minded individuals who share our love for exploring the world and creating lasting memories. Looking forward to meeting you on the road!

Van had an issue with front breaks due to a lack of maintenance from the owners, when breaks made a screeching sound we advised both owners and outdoorsy. We wasted 2 days of our honeymoon trip to get repairs from a nearby garage advised by outdoorsy support.
Total of repairs was 999.94 $ to change calipers, rotors and break pads. All these part are car wear parts, so we cannot be held accountable for these damages, but yet the owner asked us at first to pay half of the repairs, we refused. When she had the amount announced by mechanic, she asked if it was possible to do only break pads, which was impossible, or if we could drive to Vancouver (200km) without breaks properly functionning so she could take care of repairs herself to of course, spend less money, the mechanic adivsed her that it was totally unsafe as it was metal against metal and the overheat could make some serious damages to the van and to ourselves. Meaning that she considered, maybe just for a second, putting me and my pregrand wife in danger during our honeymoon just to save some dollars. She then paid the whole amount to the garage, letting us know that the issue was solved.
We made the van drop-off to owner place the next day, they never mentionned the issue and we left in "good terms". But later that day we received an email from Carissa stating the course of events (in a way that could fit her narrative), and then we received an email from outdoorsy stating that we could be held responsible for repairs, but not just half of it but the whole amount !
This is a total outrage from both owners and outdoorsy, owners for their lack of honesty and greed, and outdoorsy for their lack of support.
The case is not closed yet, we won't accept this terrible situation.

Carissa and Tom took the time to show us how everything worked, offered tips on sites worth seeing and useful stores along the way, and even provided some extra amenities to make our journey more enjoyable. They were very fast to answer and provided all the necessary information in the weeks in the run up to our trip.
