About Lane's RV rentals
We met playing pickleball during the end of 2021. On a whim we decided to buy this RV from the person that did all of the wonderful conversion on the original cargo Sprinter van to the RV that is today. We have taken our "Vino Van" several places in Southern California. Santa Barbara and its wine country, Orange County, Temecula and of course to the beaches here in San Diego. We hope that you will rent, and love, our RV as much as we do.

The RV was what I expected it would be. I rented a class B just to get a feel for the experience. We had it for two days. The weather wasn't the best and some rain water made its way into the RV.
The host, Lane, was right up front in offering and giving me a partial refund.

The Vino Van was an absolute joy to drive!
It made my 9-hour road trip to the campsite not only smooth but genuinely enjoyable—for both me and my two cats! The interior was surprisingly spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—even for someone 6’2” like me. It truly felt like an Airbnb on wheels—just add diesel!

This was a great value and provided the basic necessities we needed. Lane was outstanding with communication and flexibility with the pickup and return. The vehicle was easy to drive, well provisioned, and is perfect for a 2 people who need a simple and cozy place to stay. The gray water goes straight to ground which was no problem for us, but keep this is mind for your trip. Lane also takes care of the toilet disposal, which is very generous service to include.

We had a really wonderful trip to death valley in the vino van. Lane was very communicative and super accommodating/generous w.r.t. early pick up and late drop off. He also takes care of things like emptying/replenishing water/toilet, etc. at the end of the trip which is something others will often charge for (and sometimes a lot!!). The van is a good value, and additional miles are on the lower end of what you will find on Outdoorsy. My only gripe is that it's an older vehicle (2015) and a lot of things weren't working or had been damaged by other renters and not yet repaired (e.g., missing gray water tank for kitchen sink); however nothing significantly affected our trip. We had enough power, water, etc. for all 3 days and we're able to take consecutive hot showers without issue. It's smaller though, so lots of bumped heads and shins on stuff but that's sort of what you get with a class B. Good mileage and felt very safe to drive.

Lane was kind during the pick-up/walk through. Unfortunately, critical elements of the van did not function: inverter/battery did not work, no grey water tank for the sink - instead it dumped to ground, no bucket provided, we used the trash can, microwave only ran for one minute then cut all electricity off, and we planned for microwave food only. We got the generator, and that fight make the microwave work either. Bring your own camp stove - the “stove” provided is a flat griddle top - unusable unless making pancakes. We couldn’t get the Bluetooth working so music during the drive, and didn’t get amy instruction for it. Otherwise, the van was cute and fun. Points for being flexible with pickup / drop off time.

Host was very accommodating. Was dry camping for 4 days and never lost battery power or water. Toilet is a cassette in the shower but workable. Bed very comfortable. Easy to drive. No stove inside but one provided for outside. Would rent is again.

The Vino Van was a perfect mini vacation adventure. Lane was easy to work with and had everything that was needed to make renting his van an amazing experience. Van was perfect for us and our two dogs to explore and camp in Malibu Canyon. We will definitely rent this van again. Thank you!!
