Let me start by saying that if I were only rating the host, I would give 5 stars. Kaci was very nice, quick to respond, and willing to work with us. However for the sake of other renters I have to rate the trip honestly because the trailer awful. The original trailer we rented was the 2009 Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite. It was VERY old, in terrible condition, smelled like cat urine, the batteries didn’t work and even when it was plugged in, there was no power. We contacted the host and she gave us a different trailer. This one was newer but still very well used. We got it to the campsite in a very remote area and discovered that the batteries would not hold a charge so the generator had to always be running. The fresh water tank had pink antifreeze in it so when you showered, washed dishes, or used the water at all, it was pink with anti freeze. The beds were very hard. Finally, the trailer had not been dumped so it was full of the previous renter’s sewer and backed up into the tub. It was a terrible and very frustrating camping experience. I hope things get better for future renters.

RVs require either shore power or a generator to operate outlets, the microwave, air conditioner, and other 120V appliances. The batteries only power 12V systems like the lights, water pump, and tongue jack, which is standard for travel trailers. The camper was winterized with non-toxic RV antifreeze, which is common in Alaska. The plumbing is flushed before each rental, and the renters immediately before you reported no pink water. The shower and black tank are separate systems, so sewer waste cannot back up into the shower. Any water there would come from the gray water system.I take pride in maintaining my campers and responding quickly to concerns. I also chose not to charge you for a wiring issue that occurred during your rental, despite having photos showing it was intact beforehand. I absorbed that cost because my priority was helping you enjoy your trip. While I respect your opinion, I don’t believe a two-star review reflects the level of service and effort I provided.
