Just a gal who loves her dogs, the beach and trying new things! I fell in love with #vanlife after college when working at a very lonely job and just wanted to run away. But now, I am a bit more settled and want to use my van build to help others escape and get away from it all for a bit. My aesthetic is colorful, playful and maybe a little bit retro.

Alex was SO accommodating of my schedule changes and itinerary; she met me at the bus station in Dover, making my transition to and from the airport incredibly simple. The van was easy to drive with all the mirrors and backup camera and it performed flawlessly. I appreciated the extra sleeping bag for unexpectedly cooler nights and the surprise of a hammock among the camping gear gave me an additional retreat for naps once I was at my camping spot.

Alex is so kind and thoughtful and so very creative! The can had everything we needed; chairs, flashlight, lighters, extra sleeping bag, all cookware. It was fully stocked! She does warn that the bed is short and at 5’6, I noticed the length. I slept at a slight angle and was comfy. The bed is soft and very cozy! It was perfect for my daughter and I!

I rented LaVANder Lou for two weeks of visiting friends and family throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Alex was a prompt communicator, friendly, and very helpful. The van was clean, and well outfitted for either primitive camping or just parking in mom’s backyard.It was easy to drive, and just the right size for a solo traveler. The mattress was a real one, not merely a foam pad, and a variety of pillows helped me be comfortable sleeping or reading in bed. The propane camp stove was easy to use, and I was delighted to find a real cast-iron pan and stainless steel pot with a steamer. Being able to carry 10 gallons of water meant that clean up of dishes, and myself, was a breeze even when far from running waterI especially loved the fairy lights around the interior, which set a perfect amount of illumination after dark. The dinosaur nightlight was bright enough to read by, and discovering the different color options a few days later was a surprise! The panels that Velcro to all the windows for privacy, helped block out street lights when I was parked in more suburban areas. The van’s heating and cooling system worked incredibly fast to make the interior comfortable in the ever-changing New England summer weather.
