Seeing a review like this is disheartening because we pride ourselves on not only providing a clean and fully functional toy hauler, we’d like to think we also provide an exceptional renting experience. Because Josh Beeman took the time and effort to express his experience with us and our toy hauler, we will do the same in kind.Josh Beeman’s review does not address the cleanliness, functionality and amenities provided by us while he enjoyed the use of our toy hauler. It also does not accurately reflect the time, patience and respect we afforded him from his initial contact with us through the return of our toy hauler. It mostly addresses our interaction after the return, though also inaccurate. Instead of going into all the details, we will address each of his points. The booking was requested on Wednesday, March 3 at 6:20 pm for a two day booking with a pick up date of Friday, March 5 at 9am and a return date of Sunday, March 7 at 4pm.1) The cleaning fee issue - The booking negotiations started with a request for a two day booking ( our minimum is three days) which we immediately agreed to, and multiple requests to waive the cleaning fee and black dump fees. regardless of the 3 explanations that we do CDC level cleaning. There was also back and forth regarding pick up and return times because what we offered didn't work for him. After agreeing to the two day booking and his requested pick up and drop off times, it ended with “Booked, it’s going to be dirty when I get back though lol. Jk” We are not sure what he believes is untrue but our cleaning and dump fees are very clear in our listing, and we do clean our toy hauler thoroughly based on CDC recommended guidelines, listed and advertised as Enhanced Clean. What other owners charge is not our concern.2) He did not arrive at the agreed upon return time, nor did he contact us. We had to reach out to him, at the time he was supposed to have returned, to find out that he had not even begun his return trip back to town. Had he contacted us to reassure us that all was well with our toy hauler, we may have been more understanding. When notifying us of the time he would be arriving in town and returning our toy hauler, which he informed us was going to be at 10pm or 11pm (6-7 hours late, not 4), he was given the choice of late fees or an extra night, neither of which he was happy about. He chose the extra night. He didn’t know about the late fees because he tried rushing us through his orientation, continually checking his phone, and clearly distracted. He did not allow us to go through the paperwork which had information regarding the late fees, instead cutting off the run through of paperwork and just signing.3) Our trailer was not returned to us in the condition it was picked up in nor did he sign “the paper work stating it was in the same condition as it was when I picked it up”. Paperwork stated it was not cleaned or dumped. Josh returned our toy hauler with said bag of dirty dishes in the sink (“ If you're going to charge me a cleaning fee, don’t you think you should do the dishes”), not swept, and very clearly not in the condition in which he received it. Return procedure was rushed as he was again in a hurry. He left. Shortly after he left, damage was found on one of our tires. When we notified him 90 minutes later ( not 3 hours ) he became defensive and accusatory, threatening us with a bad review if we charged him for the tire. There were a few other minor damages found (blinds found on the floor of our toy hauler, no longer functional; upper bunk lock pins damaged due to being pounded in the wrong hole; screen door damage; dent put in our oven door. With the exception of the tire, we had no intention of charging him any extra fees, even though it was well within our rights to do so.Josh Beeman used manipulative and intimidating tactics to try to get what he wanted at the most minimal cost. While we understand the idea of haggling, his was excessive. Josh also showed total disrespect and callousness to us, our time, our business and our trailer. This was clear in his communications with us, how he returned our trailer to us, and in his own words used to write his review. While our experience with Josh has been stressful, and quite frankly, unpleasant, it has afforded us opportunities to better our screening process of future renters, better our communication skills regarding bookings, and better our listing to include more detailed information regarding our rental that will benefit us as well as our future renters. While we will not be renting to Josh Beeman, we are grateful for the learning opportunities this experience has given us.
