Details, details, details. Often during the rental pick up, your renter is excited to get underway and won&#8217;t remember everything you&#8217;ve told them. Make sure you are clear and concise when going through the walkthrough, and make sure they review and sign off on everything in the Renter Return form. 
Additionally, it&#8217;s helpful to have checklists, labels and shorthand manuals for the most common things your renter is going to use—this way they are not calling you in the middle of the trip (or worse, trying to guess how to operate something and potentially causing damage). Many owners will send over links to video walkthroughs prior to a renter&#8217;s departure date; this helps as a future reference for the renter as well as letting them familiarize themselves with your vehicle&#8217;s particular quirks. 
Walk your renter through the Rental contract and make sure they sign. (As an example, if you don&#8217;t want them using the awning, make sure they are aware of that and that any damage is their responsibility). The clearer you are in your walk through and key exchange, the less confusion or chance for misunderstanding there is for the Renter and you further down the road. 
Before departure it&#8217;s important to document the condition your RV is in prior to handing over the keys. You&#8217;ve booked an RV and are getting stoked for your camping vacation &#8211; hooray! Now, let&#8217;s say you want to change your payment method after you&#8217;ve booked your trip. No problemo. Depending on when your trip departs, different charges, like the security deposit, can occur at different times. As a result, you may want to update the payment method associated with your reservation. Here&#8217;s how to do that:

How do I update my payment method?

Roamly has partnered with Sensible to provide a product that allows you to purchase coverage for the duration of your trip and be able to receive a refund in the event of bad weather.



Available in the U.S. only, for all RVs, this additional Roamly Weather Coverage provides protection for your trip in the event of unexpected bad weather. Possible coverage is based on information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).



For example, if it rains more than the amount quoted (based on the NOAA day-of-forecast), then Sensible will automatically provide a refund to you, based on the current weather at the location of your trip.



When you initially purchase coverage from Roamly Weather, you will see some basic information outlining your coverage and its parameters:



What to expect:



A forecasted &#8220;light rain&#8221; of 1.5 mm, or more, for 3+ hours will trigger the daily coverage. We&#8217;ll alert you if bad weather is on the horizon. Don&#8217;t worry, we&#8217;ll only text you if it&#8217;s important &#8211; aka you have money available. Light rain is when you walk outside, and the ground looks like it&#8217;s been raining, think small puddles. 



How&#8217;s the coverage triggered?



3 &#8211; 6 hours of rain = $51.93/day 6+ hours of rain = $103.86/day

Note! Roamly weather coverage can only be quoted and purchased for trips that are less than three months long.

No, Roamly Weather Coverage is a separate offering from both Trip Protection and Damage Protection.

The covered amount is based on the total cost of your booking when coverage is purchased.&nbsp;



<h3>How long do I have to purchase coverage?</h3>



Roamly Weather Coverage is available for purchase up until the day before your trip begins. If your trip starts today, you will not be able to purchase coverage.&nbsp;



<h3>What happens if I change the dates of my trip?</h3>



Because coverage is based on a specific date range and forecast, if you change the dates of your trip then your Roamly Weather Coverage will be removed and need to be repurchased for your new trip dates.&nbsp;

You have 24 hours after the purchase of Roamly Weather Coverage to cancel it. After 24 hours have passed, then coverage will not be able to be removed without canceling the booking.&nbsp;

What are Campgrounds on Outdoorsy

Every year, thousands of people converge on Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the annual Burning Man festival. There, “artists, makers, and community organizers who co-create art, events, and local initiatives around the world” gather to celebrate and construct the sizeable—yet temporary—Black Rock City. Over the nine-day festival, the makeshift city is built, celebrations abound, the famous wooden statute is set ablaze, and then the city is disassembled.



While this can be an interesting way to spend your vacation, it can also wreak havoc on your RV. In all the excitement, some festival-goers may go a little too far and your property may get damaged or vandalized. More common, an ultra-fine dust gets kicked up in the wind and coats anything in sight.



<h2>Playa dust</h2>



The Black Rock Desert is the site of a long lost, prehistoric lake bed and the desert playa (or just ‘playa’) is the bottom of it. The playa dries out, cracks, and creates a unique, ultra-fine dust—playa dust—that the festival is often associated with. As you might imagine, this dust can get into even the cranniest of nooks.&nbsp;



Festival-goers try to beat the dust by taping air vents, seams, and windows. Some cover furniture with plastic and others even wax the outside of the RV. But, playa dust is sure to get in and when it does, it is difficult to clean from the interior and exterior of your RV. It can even damage your electrical and mechanical systems.



<h2>Insurance coverage</h2>



Because of the damage that playa dust can do to your RV and the increased risk of physical damage on the festival grounds, Burning Man remains an unauthorized festival in Outdoorsy’s terms of service. As a result, Outdoorsy insurance does not provide coverage for your RV on the festival grounds nor does it cover festival-related damage. That includes damage from playa dust to the interior, exterior, anything mechanical or electrical, or vandalism.



If your RV goes to Burning Man, Outdoorsy offers liability-only coverage to and from the festival to ensure your RV is road legal. But, if your RV is involved in a covered loss and your guest is at fault: your RV is not covered, only other peoples’ damaged property is covered. In addition, our liability-only coverage is provided at the state minimum level of coverage.



Outdoorsy’s Burning Man policy also means that our teams can only provide limited support in disputes you may have with your guest. In addition, if your guest is traveling from abroad, you will most likely be unable to collect on damages through small claims court. Candidly, if your RV goes to Burning Man, collecting for damages to your RV will be between you and your guest.



We understand that our Burning Man insurance policy may give you pause in accepting bookings headed for the festival. That’s okay! It’s your vehicle and you can do as you wish.
