Before booking your stay with us, we ask that you take a moment to review our policies and guidelines. Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all begins with a clear understanding of our guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation in making Black Hills Vista RV Park a welcoming and pleasant destination for everyone. Note: The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has it's own set of rules and policies.
2024 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally - Rules and PoliciesThe official dates for the 2024 Sturgis Rally are Friday August2nd thru Sunday August 11thRally Only - 50% of your total stay would be required to secure your reservation. This non-refundable deposit is required at registration. There is also an additional Site Guarantee Fee of$25 dollars to guarantee your site choice. Full payment is due on March 1st, or at the time ofregistration thereafter. Unpaid reservations after March 1st, may be canceled without notificationto the registrant.Park Rules & Regulations:OFFICE HOURS - office is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.CHECK IN / CHECK OUT – Check in is 11:00 am check out is 10:00 am.WRISTBANDS - Admittance into the park will only be allowed with your Black Hills Vista RVPark wristbands on your right wrist. Upon arrival wristbands will be put on your right arm duringcheck-in; if your guests arrive after your arrival they will need to stop and buy their wristbandsbefore coming into the park.VISITORS - Guests may visit you but must check-in at the office to receive a temporarywristband. All guests must vacate the park by 9:00 pm or purchase an overnight wristband.SPEED LIMIT: 5mph, including bicycles. Please watch your downhill speed. Please do sosafely and quietly.SHOWER HOUSE – THE SHOWER HOUSE IS NOT CONTINUALLY SANITIZED, USEAT YOUR OWN RISK. The shower house is open 24 hours a day, closed between 11:00 am to1:00 pm for cleaning. However, please use safe discretion in the late hours. South Dakota Law34-46-14, no smoking in public areas, therefore there is NO smoking allowed inside the showerhouse. Please DO NOT dispose of household garbage in the shower house garbage can.SEWER/SEPTIC: Please do not flush any diapers, sanitary napkins, tampons, disposabletowelettes, cigarette butts, or razors into the sewer.COLORS - No "club colors" are allowed to be worn on the property of Black Hills Vista RVPark.FIRES - NO OPEN FIRES, FIREWORKS or TIKI LANTERNS ALLOWED - Thisproperty is located in the FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AS REGULATED BY THEBLACK HILLS NATIONAL FOREST SERVICE, IT IS ILLEGAL TO SHOOT OFFFIREWORKS or have open fires within the fire protection district. Propane fire pits areallowed.NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted in any of our public buildings. Please discard yourbutts in appropriate receptacles and not on the park grounds.RESTRICTIONS: Loaded firearms, bows, fireworks, air rifles , BB guns, other weapons orprojectile firing devices are prohibited on property.AWNINGS - We have high winds that come up “REALLY” fast, we recommend you do notleave your awnings down at night or when you leave the park.PICNIC TABLES – For those of you who have the plastic picnic tables there are sandbagsplaced on the leg of the table to weigh it down because of high winds. If you move the table,make sure to place the sandbags back on the legs. DO NOT PLACE HOT GRILLS ONPLASTIC TABLE OR ANCHORING ANY OBJECT TO THE TABLE. IF YOU DISTORTTHE TABLE IN ANY WAY, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE THE TABLEAT THE COST OF $300.00.TREES: Please help us protect our trees for future guests! Do not hang anything from or tieanything to the trees. Cutting trees, including branches, carve, drive nails, or mar trees in anymanner. Do not dump detergents or other poisonous materials on or around any trees or shrubs.Wi-Fi – If your device recognizes the 5 Ghz network please use it, if not, then use the 2.4 Ghznetwork. Do not connect to both networks. The Wi-Fi password is BigRig2023, please do notgive the password out to anyone. This is a public network; you should configure your computersecurity appropriately. We are not responsible for any hacking that may occur while using thepublic Wi-Fi. We do not guarantee consistent internet access as usage may vary at times.GARBAGE – Please put your garbage in the dumpster. There are several garbage dumpsterslocated throughout the park along the north and south edges of each park. To save room in thedumpsters, please break down cardboard boxes before putting them into the dumpster. PleaseDO NOT place household garbage in the shower house.QUIET TIME – 11:00 pm until 7:00 am Please be considerate to our other guests, loud musicand other disturbing circumstances is not allowed in the park. Repeated violation will result inimmediate vacating of your site without refund or credit.BEHAVIOR: We are a family friendly campground, inappropriate behavior or language will notbe tolerated. Our policies are enforced to ensure that our guests enjoy their time here. If you oryour guest are unwilling to follow our rules, you will be asked to leave and will not receive anyrefund.LAUNDRY FACILITIES – are open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, we have three washers anddryers available for your use. Located in the office/registration building.PETS - Our Campgrounds are pet-friendly and welcome our guests who enjoy traveling andsharing their camping experience with the family dog and/or cat. However, to ensure all of ourguests have a safe and enjoyable time, it is important that you read and abide by the followingpet policy:• Aggressive dogs of any breed are not welcome. If your dog shows behavior that is protectiveand unfriendly to strangers, please leave them home. If you decide to bring your dog and itexhibits this type of behavior, the manager of the campground will ask you to please find othercamping accommodations.• All pets are required to be under the control and visual observation of their owner at all times.A six foot (6’) leash rule is in effect whenever the animal is outside the owner’s camping trailer,vehicle, cabin, or motorhome. No pet should be left tied up and unattended outside the owner’scamping equipment.• Pet owners are required to pick up after their pet while on property.• Allowing your pet to bark uncontrollably day or night will not be permitted and you may beasked to leave if you are not able to control your pet’s barking behavior.• Service dogs of any breed are welcome. However, these animals must follow leash restraintpolicies and may not exhibit aggressive behavior.OIL CHANGING – It is against the law to dump used oil on the ground, so PLEASE DONOT DISPOSE OF USED OIL ON THE GROUND, IT POLLUTES THE AQUIFERTHAT WE DRAW YOUR WATER FROM. A cleanup fee may be appliedVEHICLES: One vehicle is permitted at each site, two max if the site permits it. A registrationticket is required to be displayed at all times and provided at check-in. Parking arrangements canbe made through the office for other vehicles and/or trailers for an additional fee.The washing of RVs and vehicles are prohibited.Golf carts, UTVs, electric bikes/scooters are authorized. All other recreational vehicles must beapproved by campground management.HOG HEAVEN – SORRY, ONLY WALKING ACCESS TO HOG HEAVENCAMPGROUND WILL BE ALLOWED, NO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCESS THRU THEGATE BETWEEN THE TWO PARKS. You are welcome to partake in their happenings,however, there is no access between the parks using motorized vehicles. They offer live music;serve limits spirits, food and vendors. If you plan on going into Hog Heavens’ park you mustenter through Black Hills Vista RV Park (west road between the two parks, next to the tower),they will not let you enter through their gate. You must be wearing your Black Hills Vista RVPark wristband.DAMAGE TO PROPERTY COSTS – the below costs will be your responsibility if you shoulddamage any of the items. Picnic Table $350.00, water spicket $225.00, electrical pedestal$1,400.00, plus tax for all. Cash or credit card payment will be required at time of incident.If any discrepancy listed above cannot be resolved, we reserve the right to have the site vacate byany means and cost will be applied to the owner of the vehicle(s).Management assumes no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or loss from any causeFAQHow far is downtown Sturgis? - Downtown Sturgis is approximately 1.5 miles, nearly walkingdistance. If you don't want to drive, DaBus makes frequent scheduled trips from the RV park todowntown Sturgis.I don't want to drive downtown, how can I get there? Take DaBus. DaBus makes frequentscheduled trips from the RV park to downtown Sturgis. Proper disposal can be in a paper sack enclosed in a plastic sealed garbage bag. No loose ash or coals allowed in trash bins. Please limit onsite wood storage to be contained within your area. Make sure all fires are out before going inside for the night.FIREWOOD: Firewood can be purchased in the store, or you can bring your own. Gathering of wood or cutting of trees, including branches, is not permitted on the surrounding property.TREES: Please help us protect our trees for future guests! We do not allow tents in RV sites. One unit per site.TENT SITES: Must have an actual tent in it. If it is a Roof Top Tent, please call us if you want to book a tent on the site. The park staff may enter recreational vehicles without prior consent in the event of an emergency.POOL: If applicable, all guests will be held responsible for the safety of their own children and guests at the swimming pool as there is no lifeguard on duty. Parents or guardians are to supervise and assume responsibility for all actions of their children. No unsupervised children under 16 years of age at the pool. No glass containers allowed at the pool. No pets allowed in the pool area.FLAGS: Our park provides a safe and welcoming environment for all of its guests and employees.Symbols that are intended to - or have the effect of - harassing, demeaning, intimidating, or disparaging any legally protected minority run counter to that goal and are in conflict with the values of our organization. Flags and signs that display the Confederate flag, politicians, political candidates or contain vulgarity or profanity are not allowed to be displayed at your site or throughout the campground/resort.Therefore, we reserve the right to ban the display of the Confederate battle flag symbol by any staff, campers, or any other members of the public and prohibits the sale of the Confederate flag symbol on all properties either owned, operated, or managed by Heartland ParksGuests or members of the public found to be in violation of this policy will be immediately asked to remove or cover the Confederate battle flag symbol.
